Ames appoints Christian Funcasta López as local police officer for the 2024 OPE

The City Council of Ames has appointed Christian Funcasta López as a career civil servant in the position of local police, basic scale, local police category, by means of Mayoral Decree number 3141/2026, of October 13, 2026. The resolution was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 197, on Thursday, October 15, 2026, under announcement number 2026/6634. The appointment derives from the selective process for access by open competition to the local police bodies of Galicia, basic scale, police category, corresponding to the 2024 OPE (Public Employment Offer).

The announcement, framed within the Local Administration section of the provincial gazette, bears the signature of the mayor of Ames, José Blas García Piñeiro, and is dated in Ames on October 14, 2026. The resolution ends the administrative route and is part of the filling of positions from the 2024 public employment offer within the scope of the Galician local police.

The decree and the deadline for taking office

The first point of the agreement resolves to appoint Christian Funcasta López, with NIF *2005, as a career civil servant in the position of local police, basic scale, local police category, derived from the 2024 OPE. The appointed person must take office within a maximum period of one month from the publication of their appointment in the BOP.

The period, therefore, begins to count from the day following the publication of the resolution in the provincial gazette, which places the time limit in mid-November 2026.

Functions, destination, and remuneration

The assigned functions are those corresponding to the assignment code of the current Job Position Relationship (RPT) in the council of Ames:

• Assignment code: 04.00.15.

The remuneration fixed for the position is as follows:

• Basic salary: 900.63 euros.
• Destination supplement: 493.86 euros.
• Specific supplement: 1,596.63 euros.

To these amounts must be added the basic payments specific to the professional classification group or subgroup and the complementary payments fixed for the corresponding assignment position, without prejudice to those of a variable nature to which, if applicable, the person may be entitled.

Publication, notification, and appeals

The second point of the decree orders the publication of the resolution in several official and municipal media:

• Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña.
• Official Gazette of Galicia.
• Council notice board.
• Electronic headquarters of the Ames City Council.
• Municipal website.

The third point provides for the notification of the resolution to the interested person for the appropriate purposes.

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the same body that issued the act within a period of one month starting from the day following its publication. Alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within a period of two months starting from the same date, in the manner provided for in the legislation regulating said jurisdiction.

The incorporation of this new personnel into the basic scale of the local police of Ames expands the staff framework of the municipal body and fills a position from the OPE 2024, a matter of direct interest both for the candidates following the selection processes of the Galician local police and for the personnel in service. The one-month period for taking office marks the immediate calendar for incorporation.
