Alovera announces the XXVIII National Speed Painting Competition

The Alovera City Council has approved, by Mayoral Resolution, the call for the XXVIII Villa de Alovera 2026 National Rapid Painting Competition, which will be held on September 27, 2026. The call, with identifier BDNS 924815, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 164, dated August 27, 2026.

The purpose of the competition is to promote art and culture through pictorial values within the framework of the municipality of Alovera, and it falls under the Regulatory Bases for the granting of educational, cultural, scientific prizes or any other nature subject to publicity and competition, approved by the Plenary of the Corporation in the ordinary session of September 28, 2020 (BOP of Guadalajara no. 228, of 12/01/2020). Competition Prizes

The call provides for a total of five national prizes, in addition to an honorable mention and two local prizes, with a financial endowment reaching 1,050 euros for the first award:

  • 1st prize: €1,050
  • 2nd prize: €800
  • 3rd prize: €600
  • 4th prize: €450
  • 5th prize: €300
  • Honorable mention: €250 (if deemed appropriate by the jury)
  • Local prizes: 1st prize €250 and 2nd prize €150

Participation and Development of the Day

Interested artists must present their canvases or supports in white, without texture or background color, for numbering and stamping at the Casa de la Cultura of Alovera between 8:00 and 10:00 hours on September 27. Work may begin thereafter and must conclude at 18:00 hours, at which time the works must be exhibited in the Plaza Mayor.

At the time of presenting the canvas for numbering and stamping, participants must submit the registration application according to the model in Annex I, duly signed. The call, signed by Mayor María Purificación Tortuero Pliego on August 3, 2026, attracts artists from all over Spain and consolidates Alovera as a benchmark for open-air rapid painting in the province.

Impact for the Municipality

The celebration of this competition, which reaches its twenty-eighth edition, reinforces the cultural and tourist projection of Alovera by bringing together creators from different parts of the country every year for a day of pictorial creation in the street. The call, subject to publicity and competition, guarantees transparency in the granting of prizes and represents a direct stimulus for artistic activity and the revitalization of the municipality.
