Almodóvar del Río allocates 37,357 euros to pave public roads
Por FactBox Admin

The Almodóvar del Río City Council has definitively approved a credit modification file in the amount of 37,357.08 euros destined for the paving of public roads, financed by the Contingency Fund. The decision, adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 170, dated September 2, 2026, under reference BOP-A-2026-3016.
The agreement, signed on August 28, 2026, by the mayor-president, Ramón Hernández Lucena, becomes definitive as no claims were filed during the public exhibition period. The operation is processed as a credit supplement, a mechanism that allows for the increase of the budget of a specific item when the initially allocated credits prove insufficient.
Legal Framework and Processing
The modification is based on Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, specifically articles 169.1 and 177.4. The file, identified as 01/SC/07/2026, was initially approved by the Plenary in an ordinary session held on July 29, 2026.
Since it involves financing charged to the Contingency Fund, the operation combines a credit increase in the investment item with an equivalent reduction in the unforeseen expenses item, thereby maintaining the municipality’s budgetary balance.
Operation Details
The file includes two accounting movements of identical amounts:
- Credit to be increased — budgetary application 1532-61900, “Paving of public roads. Other replacement investments”: €37,357.08.
- Credit to be decreased — budgetary application 929-50000, “Unforeseen and unclassified functions. Contingency fund”: €37,357.08.
The paving item falls within replacement investments, indicating that the funds will be used for the renovation and improvement of the street surfaces of the municipality, an urban infrastructure action with a direct impact on the mobility and safety of the residents.
Appeals and Effects
Against the agreement, which concludes the administrative route, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the competent jurisdictional body within two months from the day following the publication of the announcement, in accordance with articles 8, 25, and 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction, and article 113 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime. The filing of the appeal shall not, by itself, suspend the enforceability of the contested agreement.
The final approval of this credit supplement allows the city council to have the necessary resources to undertake the improvement of the urban road network, an investment that directly benefits the quality of life of the inhabitants of Almodóvar del Río and the condition of the municipal infrastructure.
