Almodóvar del Río authorizes animal therapy on rural land

The City Council of Almodóvar del Río has definitively approved, by agreement of the Plenary on July 29, 2026, the public interest action project authorizing the implementation of facilities intended for animal-assisted therapy and English coaching on rural land in the district of Fuenreal Bajo. The resolution, processed under file no. 9907/2022 at the request of Ms. Marie Frances Rockstad, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 170, dated September 2, 2026, page 12822, with reference BOP-A-2026-3017.

A non-agricultural use on rural plots

The project affects plots 23 and 24 of Polygon 5 of Fuenreal Bajo, which correspond to registered estate no. 3,060 (Volume 1116, Book 106, Folio 22, 3rd Entry) and cadastral plots 14005A005000230000KZ and 14005A005000240000KU. The approval represents a relevant precedent, as it permits social and educational activities unrelated to traditional agricultural exploitation on rural land.

The technical document was drafted by two registered professionals:

• Mr. Antonio M. Álamo Díaz, registered architect no. 684 of the COACo.
• Mr. Rafael Navarro Pastor, forestry engineer, registered no. 5541.

Publicity and access to the file

The project is available to interested parties on the City Council’s electronic office, where the full content of the action can be consulted. The publication in the official gazette fulfills the obligation to provide general public notice of the definitive approval of an instrument of this nature.

Appeals and deadlines

Against the agreement, which approves a provision of a general nature, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia based in Córdoba, within a period of two months from the day following notification, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, on Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. Furthermore, the possibility of exercising any other appeal deemed more appropriate is reminded, in application of Article 112.3 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure.

The agreement appears signed on August 28, 2026, by the mayor, Ramón Hernández Lucena.
