Almaraz definitively approves its 10 million budget for 2026

The Almaraz City Council has definitively approved its General Budget for the 2026 fiscal year, amounting to 10,046,000.00 euros, along with its Execution Bases and the Personnel Staffing Table. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 170, dated September 4, 2026, with reference CVE: BOP-2026-4175.
The Municipal Plenary, in an ordinary session held on July 30, 2026, initially approved the accounts, which were submitted for public review for fifteen days via an announcement published in the BOP of Cáceres number 149, dated August 6, 2026. As no claims were filed, the initial agreement was elevated to definitive status in accordance with article 169.1 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries and article 20.1 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20.
A balanced budget in income and expenditure
The document, signed by Mayor Juan Antonio Díaz Agraz in Almaraz on August 31, 2026, presents identical total income and expenditure of 10,046,000.00 euros. Current operations total 8,378,746.75 euros in income and 7,591,166.66 euros in expenditure, while capital operations reach 1,627,253.25 euros in inflows and 1,775,904.74 euros in outflows.

Expenditure: personnel and investments as pillars
In the expenditure statement, the personnel expenses chapter is the largest, with 5,021,416.57 euros, followed by current expenses for goods and services, with 1,998,750.09 euros. Real investments stand at 1,775,904.74 euros, while current transfers total 570,000.00 euros and financial liabilities 638,928.60 euros.
Staffing and remuneration of the Corporation
The approved staffing table for 2026 includes three senior officials, four civil servant positions, and a broad labor collective distributed among the City Council, the house of culture, home care, the nursery school, cleaning, WWTP (EDAR) and WTP (ETAP), the municipal gym, the nursing home, and the warehouse, among other services.

An administrative appeal may be filed directly against the final approval of the budget, in the manner and within the time limits established by the regulations of said jurisdiction, pursuant to Article 171.1 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. The publication of these accounts provides legal certainty to the municipal management of Almaraz for the entire fiscal year, establishing the line items that will finance public services and the investments that will directly affect the residents of the municipality.
