Alicante announces 90,000 euros in transport grants for sports organizations

The Alicante City Council has approved the regulatory bases and the call for the granting of subsidies to sports entities for transport assistance, corresponding to the year 2026, for a total amount of 90,000 euros. The resolution, dated October 1, 2026, corresponds to the Councilor for Sports of the Most Excellent City Council of Alicante and is published as an extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP) number 190, dated October 6, 2026, within section III, Local Administration. The call is identified in the National Subsidy Database with the code BDNS 933012.

The publication is carried out under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, which require the publication of the extract of the call. Who can apply and for what

Sports entities with a registered office in the municipality of Alicante that have participated with one or more senior teams during the 2025/2026 season in official international or state sports competitions may apply for the call.

The purpose of the aid line is to help cover part of the expenses derived from traveling to said competitions using passenger transport. It is, therefore, a subsidy directly linked to the cost of the trips that clubs must face to compete away from their headquarters.

Amount, procedure, and deadline

The total economic allocation of the call amounts to ninety thousand euros (90,000 euros). The granting will be carried out under a competitive bidding regime, through a single call and selective procedure, so that the aid will be distributed among the applications that obtain the best evaluation according to the approved bases.

How and where to submit the application

Submission is mandatory via electronic means. Pursuant to Article 14 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, legal entities—associations, clubs, and similar entities—are required to interact with the Alicante City Council through electronic means.

The application, accompanied by the required documentation, must be submitted through the “Service Catalog” section of the Electronic Office of the Alicante City Council, using the entity’s digital certificate and the procedure enabled for this purpose. The regulatory bases and annexes are available on the municipal Sports website.

Impact for clubs

The call for applications arrives at the start of the season and covers travel already undertaken by senior teams in the 2025/2026 campaign, a recurring expense for entities competing in state and international leagues. Clubs and associations in the municipality have two weeks to gather the documentation and formally submit an application electronically, which will be resolved through a competitive process; therefore, the final amount received by each entity will depend on the evaluation of their request and the number of admitted applications.
