Algerri opens public information to repurpose the Rodamilans pig farm
Por FactBox Admin

The Algerri City Council has submitted for public review the urban planning license to reorient the Rodamilans pig farm, promoted by SAT no. 1445 CAT FICLOT. The announcement, signed by Mayor Miquel Plensa Martínez, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida (BOP) number 213, dated November 6, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_213_9170 (edict 9170). The project plans to replace porcine boars with piglets at the farm located in polygon 1, plots 528 and 526, within the municipality of Algerri.
The published text details that the action consists of a “Productive reorientation project for the Rodamilans pig farm,” identified by the official farm mark 0340EC. The change in animal typology therefore implies a variation in the production model of the facility, moving from the breeding of reproducers to the fattening of piglets.
The processing is based on Article 58 of Decree 60/2014, of May 13, which approves the Regulation on the protection of urban legality, which is the regulation invoked in the announcement to submit the project to public exhibition. The file remains open for consultation by any interested party, both in person and electronically.
Twenty days to submit objections
The public information period is 20 days, during which interested parties may formulate objections and claims against the project. The announcement does not set any other participation requirement other than submission within this period.
The channels for consultation and participation are:
- In-person consultation of the file at the municipal offices, during public service hours.
- Electronic consultation at the electronic headquarters of the Algerri City Council (http://algerri.eadministracio.cat).
- Submission of objections and claims by all interested parties during the aforementioned period.
The announcement is dated November 2, 2026, and is electronically signed by the mayor, Miquel Plensa Martínez.
What changes at the farm
The project does not envision a new installation, but rather a reorientation of the existing farm. The technical elements included in the announcement are:
- Promoter: SAT no. 1445 CAT FICLOT.
- Action: productive reorientation of the Rodamilans pig farm.
- Change: replacement of porcine boars with piglets.
- Official farm mark: 0340EC.
- Location: polygon 1, plots 528 and 526, municipality of Algerri.
The published information does not specify the number of spaces or the volume of animals that the conversion will entail, nor the execution schedule for the works or adaptations, aspects that can only be verified through the documentation deposited in the municipal file.
A context of livestock pressure in the territory
The processing in Algerri adds to a series of similar announcements published in the BOP of Lleida during the autumn of 2026, all of them relating to urban planning licenses for pig farms on non-urbanizable land. Among the most recent are the public information for a facility for 2,500 piglet spaces and 1,056 fattening pig spaces in Lladurs (October 6), that of a farm for 2,000 fattening pigs in Preixens (October 15), and that of a facility for 1,040 spaces at the El Còdol estate in Navès (October 28).
In all these cases, the procedure is the same: public exhibition of the municipal urban planning license, with a twenty-day period for allegations, often in parallel with the environmental processing before the competent department of the Generalitat. The coincidence of files in small municipalities in the Lleida plain and Solsonès has turned the reorganization of the pig sector into a recurring matter in the official provincial bulletins.
In the case of Algerri, the modification affects an already existing and operational farm, so the main impact lies in the production model and the urban planning conditions of the facility, not in the occupation of new land.
Why it is relevant
The publication opens the door for neighbors, entities, and any affected person to question or endorse the change of model of an active pig farm within the municipality of Algerri. The 20-day deadline is the only formal window to do so before the City Council resolves the license, and those who do not intervene will not be able to later allege procedural defects before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction.
