Alfarràs tenders the artificial grass for the football pitch for 579,513 euros

The Alfarràs City Council has initially approved the project to replace the natural grass with artificial turf at the municipal football field, an action with a contracting execution budget of 579,513.61 euros, VAT included. The agreement was reached by the Municipal Plenary in the session of October 14, 2026, and is now published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida (no. 201, October 21, 2026), with the official reference CVE BOP-2026_0_201_8759. The project will be open for public inspection for thirty business days before it can be put out to tender.

The document is titled “Basic and execution project for the installation of artificial turf at the municipal football field of Alfarràs” and is processed under file 695/2026. The announcement is signed by the mayor, Joan Carles Garcia Guillamon, with an electronic signature date of October 19, 2026, and occupies page 1 of the provincial gazette.

A budget of 579,513.61 euros in two lots

The approved amount is divided into two parts that can be contracted separately:

• Lot 1. Civil works: 349,583.08 euros, VAT included.
• Lot 2. Installation of artificial turf and sports equipment: 229,930.53 euros, VAT included.

The civil works lot accounts for 60.3% of the total investment, while the installation of the playing surface and sports equipment represents the remaining 39.7%. The budget is the execution budget for contracting, meaning the reference figure upon which the type of bidding will be fixed.

Actions at the Sisquella Street field

The objective of the project is not limited to changing the pavement of the playing field. According to the announcement, the intervention includes:

• The replacement of natural grass with artificial turf at the municipal football field, located on Sisquella Street.
• Complementary civil works.
• Sanitation and drainage works.
• Installation of the irrigation system.
• Perimeter paving.
• Sports equipment.

It is, therefore, a comprehensive remodeling of the municipal sports facility, moving from a natural playing surface to a synthetic one with the associated infrastructure.

Thirty business days to submit allegations

The processing is carried out in accordance with article 235.2 of Legislative Decree 2/2003, of April 28, which approves the revised text of the Municipal and Local Regime Law of Catalonia, and article 37 of Decree 179/1995, of June 13, which approves the Regulation of works, activities, and services of local entities. The public information period is thirty business days and is counted from the day after the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette.

During this period, any interested person may do the following:

• Examine the project and the technical documentation.
• Formulate allegations, claims, or suggestions.
• Submit them through the general registry of the Alfarràs City Council or by any of the means provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations.
• Consult the documentation at the municipal electronic office and at the municipal offices, during public opening hours.

Once the exhibition period is closed, the initial approval may become definitive if no allegations are presented, and the project will be ready to begin the contracting of the works.

The news is relevant for the municipality because it establishes the economic and administrative framework for one of the most prominent sports investments in Alfarràs and because it opens, for the first time, the door for entities, residents, and clubs to present amendments to the project before it is tendered.
