Alfaro abre la XII convocatoria de subvenciones a emprendedores e innovación

The Alfaro City Council has announced the 12th edition of the entrepreneurs and business innovation competition, a grant line endowed with 6,000 euros that will distribute prizes ranging from 200 to 1,800 euros. The summary of the call is published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja number 194, dated October 8, 2026, with reference BOR-A-20261008-III–3767 and file number 202610060124807. Applications may be submitted within twenty business days starting from the day following said publication.

The call is supported by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Grants Law, whose articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a require the publication of the summary, and is registered in the National Grants Database with the code BDNS 932510. The full text can be consulted at www.infosubvenciones.es and on the Alfaro City Council website.

The regulatory bases are the General Municipal Grants Ordinance, approved by Plenary agreement on April 4, 2008, and published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja on July 15, 2008, together with the bases contained in the resolution issued by the Local Government Board on September 30, 2026. The announcement occupies section III, “Other Provisions and Acts,” pages 17095 and 17096, and is signed by the Mayor-President, María Yolanda Preciado Moreno, in Alfaro, on October 5, 2026.

Two lines of aid: companies and students

The first line is aimed at new business initiatives or the improvement and innovation of existing ones. Natural or legal persons who hold a functioning business activity, domiciled in the municipality of Alfaro, started or with substantial improvements or innovations executed in the years 2025 and 2026, may apply. Public entities, private entities with public participation, and associations or other non-profit entities are excluded.

The second line rewards business ideas created by students and is divided into two categories:

  • Category 1: students enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) or Basic FP (Vocational Training) in educational centers in Alfaro during the 2026/2027 academic year.
  • Category 2: Intermediate Degree, Higher Degree, or Baccalaureate students in educational centers in Alfaro, as well as university students registered as residents in Alfaro for at least one year.

The declared objective of the grant is to promote the entrepreneurial, innovative, commercial, and business spirit in the municipality and among the student population.

Prizes from 200 to 1,800 euros

The budget credits to which the grant is attributed amount to 6,000 euros, charged to application 241.48100 “Entrepreneurs competition prizes” of the 2026 Municipal Budget. The distribution is as follows:

  • Line 1: first prize of 1,800 euros, second of 1,100 euros and third of 600 euros.
  • Line 2, category 1: first prize of 500 euros, second of 300 euros and third of 200 euros.
  • Line 2, category 2: first prize of 700 euros, second of 500 euros and third of 300 euros.

Twenty business days and electronic application

The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty (20) business days starting from the day following the publication of this summary in the Official Gazette of La Rioja, or the announcement on the City Council Notice Board if it occurs later.

Applications shall be submitted electronically through the Electronic Office of the Alfaro City Council (https://alfaro.sedelectronica.es) or in person, only in the case of natural persons, at the General Registry of the M.I. City Council of Alfaro, calle Las Pozas, 14, 26540 Alfaro (La Rioja), Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 hours. The call for applications, its rules, and subsequent announcements regarding the contest will be published on the municipal Notice Board.

The call maintains municipal support for Alfaro’s business fabric and expands the focus to students, who may opt for prizes for business ideas without the need to have a constituted company. For entrepreneurs and students of the municipality, the twenty-business-day period marks the window to formalize their candidacy before the City Council.
