Alcoy accumulates social services positions across five employment calls

The Alcoy City Council has expanded five public employment calls in the social services area by accumulating vacant positions offered in the 2026 Public Employment Offer, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante No. 129, dated July 13, 2026. The agreements, signed by Mayor Antonio Francés Pérez on August 19 and 20, are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante No. 166, dated September 2, 2026, in section III of Local Administration.

The expansion is supported by the second clause of each call, which allows for the addition of offered vacancies to the called positions until the completion of the tests, provided they are published before the selection process concludes. As the processes have not yet finished, the council has proceeded to accumulate the new positions, which are added to those already called in the open category, with reservations for people with functional diversity.

Five expanded selection processes

The accumulated positions increase the total number of posts offered in each process:

• Social Integration Technician (group B, call BOP 88/2026): adds 3 positions and goes from 5 to 8 positions, one reserved for functional diversity.
• Social Worker (subgroup A2, call BOP 73/2026): adds 5 positions and goes from 10 to 15 positions, one reserved for functional diversity.
• Social Educator (subgroup A2, call BOP 22/2026): adds 2 positions and goes from 7 to 9 positions, one reserved for functional diversity.
• Home Help Service Assistant (subgroup C2, call BOP 73/2026): adds 6 positions and goes from 10 to 16 positions, three reserved for functional diversity.
• Gender Equality Promotion Technician (group B, call BOP 88/2026): adds 1 position and goes from 1 to 2 positions.

Original calls

The rules for the expanded processes were published in different issues of the provincial gazette throughout 2026:

• BOP No. 22, dated February 3, 2026, for Social Educator.
• BOP No. 73, dated April 21, 2026, for Social Worker and Home Help Service Assistant.
• BOP No. 88, dated May 13, 2026, for Social Integration Technician and Gender Equality Promotion Technician.

The accumulated positions come from the 2026 Public Employment Offer and are incorporated into those already called from previous years (2024 and 2025), all in the open category and via the competitive examination system (concurso-oposición).

Notification to applicants and tribunal

Each agreement provides for the notification of the expansion to the applicants of the selection process through a public announcement, as well as to the members of the tribunal constituted for this purpose. Consequently, candidates already registered will see an increase in the number of positions to be filled in their respective tests.

The accumulation strengthens the municipality’s social services staff at a time of high care demand and expands access opportunities for people with functional diversity, who have a specific quota in four of the five processes. Interested parties should stay tuned to the official announcements from the town council to learn the final status of each call.
