Por FactBox Admin

The Alcobendas City Council has announced school supply grants for the 2026-2027 academic year, with an allocation of 138,000 euros destined for families in the municipality with the lowest income. The call is formalized through decree 2026-11538, dated August 6, 2026, an extract of which is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 208, dated September 1, 2026, in section III of Local Administration.
The grant is processed under a competitive bidding system and its call identification code is 926012. The full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database, in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3B and 20.8A of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies.
Beneficiary Requirements
Families from Alcobendas who meet the following requirements may apply for the grant:
- Both the student and the applicant (father, mother, or guardian) must be registered as residents (empadronados) in the municipality with uninterrupted seniority since at least January 1, 2026.
- All members of the family unit counted for income purposes must be up to date with the payment of municipal taxes.
- They must not fall under any of the cases listed in article 13.2 of Law 38/2003.
- The student must be enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year in the Second Cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Basic Vocational Training, Baccalaureate, or Intermediate Vocational Training, in a center supported by public funds from the Community of Madrid.
- The family per capita income must not exceed 9,500 euros annually in the year 2025.
Amount and Award Criteria
The amount available for the 2026-2027 academic year totals 138,000 euros. Grants will be awarded following the ascending order marked by the family per capita income, starting with the lowest; if applications exceed the budgeted credit, the income threshold may be modified downwards throughout the process.
Students repeating a grade may not be beneficiaries of the grant for the year they are repeating, except in the case of unforeseen circumstances and on an exceptional basis, following a favorable report from the Evaluation Commission. Those who possess or meet the legal requirements to obtain an official degree of the same or higher level may not apply for Baccalaureate or Intermediate Vocational Training grants, and they must be enrolled in all subjects of the course.
Deadline and Regulatory Bases
The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid. The regulatory bases are the General Ordinance regulating education material grants of the Alcobendas City Council, published in BOCM number 177, dated July 26, 2016.
The extract appears signed in Alcobendas on August 24, 2026, by the Councilor for Education and Citizen Participation, Fernando Martínez Rodríguez.
Impact for families
The call for applications provides direct relief for thousands of households in Alcobendas at a time of high family spending due to the return to school. By setting the threshold at 9,500 euros of per capita income, the measure concentrates support on family units with the lowest economic capacity, ensuring that school supplies are not an obstacle to schooling for the 2026-2027 academic year.
