Alcalá la Real authorizes the improvement of the Santa Ana power line

The City Council of Alcalá la Real (Jaén) has granted the Favorable Environmental Qualification for the consolidation of the medium-voltage overhead line section “Era_Alta” (20 kV) from the “Mazuelos” substation, promoted by E-Distribución Redes Digitales, S.L.U. The resolution, issued by Decree of the Delegated Department of Urban Planning and Municipal Heritage no. 2026-3553, dated August 4, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 162, dated August 21, 2026 (pp. 12918-12920).

The action consists of changing the conductor between existing supports A717912 and A717359, with the aim of improving the electrical infrastructure of the area. The activity is located on several plots, in rural and urban land, in the village of Santa Ana, near the “El Chaparral” Industrial Estate.

File and promoter

The file (no. 10102/2025) was initiated on December 11, 2025, at the request of Mr. Antonio José Ortiz Generoso, representing E-Distribución Redes Digitales, S.L.U., with CIF B82846817. The activity falls under Annex I, category 5, subcategory 5.5, of Law 7/2007, of July 9, on Integrated Environmental Quality Management in Andalusia.

The procedure included favorable reports from municipal services:

• Urban planning report from the municipal Architect, dated July 24, 2026.
• Favorable Environmental Qualification proposal from the technical services, dated July 27, 2026.
• Favorable legal report, dated July 28, 2026.

Measures and conditions

The resolution incorporates the corrective measures detailed in the technical project drafted by the Industrial Technical Engineer Mr. José Luis Gámez Cabrero. Furthermore, a license for the activity is granted, although its implementation will require a request in accordance with article 45 of Law 7/2007 and article 19 of the Environmental Qualification Regulations (Decree 297/1995, of December 19).

The environmental qualification does not imply the granting of an urban planning construction license. Prior to the start of the works, the interested party must:

• Request the prior administrative authorization of the installation from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Regional Government of Andalusia, in accordance with Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1.
• Provide said authorization to the construction license file, along with the conclusions of the technical and legal reports.

Publication and control

The resolution is published in the BOP of Jaén and on the City Council’s web portal, in accordance with article 44.7 of Law 7/2007, and is communicated to the Territorial Delegation with competencies in the environment. The agreement is notified to the interested party, the Municipal Technical Services, and the Local Police, who may carry out any inspections and verifications they deem necessary at any time. The document is signed by the Mayor, Antonio Marino Aguilera Peñalver, dated August 5, 2026.

The improvement of the “Era_Alta” line reinforces the electricity supply of the village of Santa Ana and the surroundings of the “El Chaparral” Industrial Estate, a key infrastructure for the residential and business activity of the municipality. The favorable environmental processing clears the way for the modernization of the medium-voltage network, guaranteeing greater service reliability in an area of growing economic activity.
