Alcalá la Real increases its budget by 886,660 euros

The City Council of Alcalá la Real (Jaén) has definitively approved budget modification file number 3/19/2026, in the form of a credit supplement and extraordinary credit, for a total amount of 886,660 euros. The agreement, signed by the mayor Antonio Marino Aguilera Peñalver, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 164, dated August 25, 2026, page 12976, with the reference 2026/4011.
The definitive approval occurs as no claims were filed against the file, in accordance with the provisions of article 177.2, in relation to 169.3, of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of April 5. The edict was signed in Alcalá la Real on August 21, 2026.
Expenditure Distribution
The budget modification is structured into three expenditure chapters, with a very significant weight on real investments, which absorb practically the entire increase:
- Current expenses and services: 49,000.00 euros.
- Current transfers: 4,000.00 euros.
- Real investments: 833,660.00 euros.
- Total Expenditure Budget: 886,660.00 euros.
Financing with Treasury Surplus
The full amount of the modification is financed from the net Treasury surplus for general expenses, for a total of 886,660.00 euros, which constitutes the sole source of financing for the file. This route allows the council to address new spending needs without resorting to additional debt.
Appeal Period
A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against the definitive approval before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, based in Granada, within a period of two months from the publication of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province.
The budget expansion reinforces the municipality’s investment capacity for the 2026 fiscal year, by channeling more than 833,000 euros toward real investments that will translate into works and service improvements for the residents of Alcalá la Real, financed with the own resources available in the treasury.
