Alcalá la Real opens 10,000 euros in municipal sports grants

The Alcalá la Real City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén the call for municipal grants for participation in competitions of special interest and scholarships for athletes for the 2026 fiscal year, with a maximum global amount of 10,000 euros. The summary of the call, corresponding to file 6923/2025, appears in issue 173 of the gazette, dated September 7, 2026, and opens a period of 15 business days to submit applications.

The measure, promoted by the council’s Sports Department, is processed under a competitive bidding system and is governed by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, as well as by the City Council’s own General Ordinance on Subsidies. The announcement, signed by the mayor-president Antonio Marino Aguilera Peñalver on September 2, 2026, refers the full text to the National Subsidy Database (BDNS), with identifier 927605.

Beneficiaries and requirements

Individuals, associations, and sports clubs from Alcalá la Real may apply for these grants. Entities must meet a series of conditions to be eligible as beneficiaries:

Be registered in the Andalusian Registry of Sports Entities and have their registered office in Alcalá la Real, in addition to their registration in the Municipal Registry of Neighborhood Associations.
Be up to date with tax obligations to the City Council, the Tax Agency, and Social Security.
Have no outstanding municipal grants pending reimbursement or justification beyond the deadline.
Not fall under the circumstances that prevent obtaining beneficiary status as provided for in Article 13 of the LGS.

Programs regulated by other municipal bases, activities in private sports facilities unless there is a public interest, and clubs that are not officially constituted or lack a registration number from the Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía) are excluded.

Purpose and amount

The grants are destined for two lines of action:

Participation in official federated competitions of special interest.
Travel scholarships for federated team sports athletes to attend training sessions and official matches or encounters.

Activities carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2026, or, depending on the sport, the 2025/26 sports season, will be eligible for subsidies. The credit is allocated to budget application 340 48900, with a global cap of 10,000 euros.

Deadline and submission

Applications may be submitted within 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP of Jaén. Submission shall be carried out exclusively through the City Council’s electronic office, using the standardized form electronically signed by the legal representative with a digital certificate, accompanied by the required documentation.

Submission after the deadline will constitute grounds for exclusion from the procedure, and the resolution of inadmissibility will be notified individually in accordance with articles 40 to 44 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. Only one application per entity or applicant person will be admitted.

Impact

The call reinforces municipal support for grassroots and federated sports in Alcalá la Real, facilitating the cost of competition and travel for local clubs and athletes. With a tight deadline of fifteen days, interested entities must process their applications promptly through the electronic office to avoid missing the opportunity to access these grants.
