Alcalá de Henares aprueba 60.000 euros en ayudas de material didáctico escolar

The Local Government Board of Alcalá de Henares approved on October 16, 2026, the guidelines governing the granting of aid to students with teaching material needs for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a maximum budget of 60,000 euros. The extract of the agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) no. 258, of October 28, 2026, section III (Local Administration), pages 80-81, under BDNS number 936764. Applications are processed under File 32155/2026.

Beneficiary centers and purpose

Publicly funded schools in Alcalá de Henares providing the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Basic Vocational Training, and Special Education may apply for this aid. Requesting centers must be affiliated with the “Accede” program of the Community of Madrid and allocate the funds to cover the material needs of families in socio-economic disadvantage.

The call covers expenses that the Accede Program, regulated by Decree 168/2018, of December 11, does not reach—the second cycle of Early Childhood Education and part of the curricular material for the remaining courses—or covers insufficiently. The evaluation criteria refer to the resolution of the Director General of Concerted Education, Scholarships, and Study Grants of June 25, 2026, which dictates the management instructions for the textbook and teaching material loan program for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Two funding lines and amounts per student

The maximum amount of the call totals 60,000 euros, divided into two lines:

  • Line 1, current expenditure on school materials: 45,000 euros.
  • Line 2, investments in electronic equipment: 15,000 euros.

Line 1 includes printed textbooks, annual licenses for digital books and complementary programs, individual-use peripherals up to 50 euros, non-inventoriable school materials (backpacks, pencil cases, stationery, teaching resources, and curricular adaptations), and the practical materials required for Basic Vocational Training. Line 2 comprises electronic equipment for student use and permanent licenses.

The Evaluation Commission will determine the amount of each grant, with the following caps per student:

  • 100 euros for the second cycle of Early Childhood Education.
  • 150 euros for Primary Education and Basic Vocational Training.
  • 200 euros for Compulsory Secondary Education and Special Education.

Funding will never exceed 100% of the requested amount. If the sum of applications exceeds the available credit, a proportional reduction will be applied so as not to exceed the total allocated amount.

Deadline, submission, and justification

The submission period is 20 business days from the day following the registration of the call in the National Grants Database. Applications are to be submitted through the electronic office of the Alcalá de Henares City Council, following the model in Annex I and addressed to the Department of Education.

The grants are incompatible with others that pursue the same purpose and cover the totality of the expenses. The center itself shall acquire the books and materials, with the obligation to justify the amount received through original invoices issued in its name and dated between September 1, 2026, and May 31, 2027. The justification period is set between June 1 and June 30, 2027, in accordance with point 11 of the regulatory bases, published on the Department of Education portal.

The extract was signed in Alcalá de Henares on October 21, 2026, by the delegated councilwoman for Education and University, Dolores López Bautista.

Impact for families

The call arrives while the school year is already underway and families have already faced the purchase of books and materials. The City Council thus assumes the portion of expenditure that the regional loan system does not cover, with special attention to Early Childhood Education, Basic Vocational Training, and students with special educational needs, with per-student caps that increase in Secondary and Special Education up to 200 euros.
