Alcalá de Guadaíra subsidizes driver's licenses for the unemployed

Por FactBox Admin

The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council has opened a call for grants, with a budget of 80,000 euros, so that unemployed persons registered in the municipality can afford to obtain class B or C driving licenses. The measure, approved by the Local Government Board in an ordinary session on July 31, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville number 169, dated September 1, 2026, via the summary of the call with reference BOP-SE-2026-169001.

This is Line 5 of the call for the improvement of employability under a competitive bidding process for 2026, managed by the Employment Delegation. The stated objective is to contribute to employability by improving the mobility of unemployed workers in the city.

Beneficiaries and requirements

Adults who meet the following conditions may apply for these grants:

  • Be registered in Alcalá de Guadaíra with a continuous residency of at least 1 year prior to the start of the application period, a condition that must be maintained at the time of the award.
  • Be unemployed or have a working day equal to or less than 50%.
  • Have started the activity to be subsidized (obtaining the license) during the year 2026.

Amount and payment method

The grant covers 100% of the expenses associated with obtaining the driving license, with the following maximum limits:

  • 700 euros for the class B license.
  • 1,400 euros for the class C license (including CAP).

The amount will be paid in full in advance, following the resolution granting the subsidy. The credit is financed through the budgetary application 50501/2411/4810003 of the 2026 municipal budget.

Deadline and processing

The application period will be 15 business days, counting from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Province of Seville, through the National Grants Database (BDNS, identifier 925282) and the City Council’s electronic office. The application must be accompanied by the documentation provided for in the call and in the standardized application form.

The regulatory bases were approved by the Full City Council in an extraordinary session on November 5, 2024, and published in the BOP of Seville number 218, dated November 8, 2024. The summary appears signed in Alcalá de Guadaíra on August 28, 2026, by the Deputy Secretary, José Manuel Parrado Florido, substituting for the Secretary.

Impact for residents

This call for applications represents a direct opportunity for the unemployed in Alcalá de Guadaíra to remove one of the main barriers to entering the labor market: the lack of a driver’s license. By financing 100% of the expenses through advance payment, the City Council ensures that applicants do not have to pay the cost of training upfront, facilitating the acquisition of a permit that significantly expands the employment and mobility options for residents.
