Alcalá opens 40,000 euros in grants for family associations
Por FactBox Admin

The Alcalá de Henares City Council has opened the call for grants aimed at parents’ associations and federations formed by them in centers supported by public funds within the municipality for the 2026-2027 academic year. The agreement was adopted by the Local Government Board on October 23, 2026, and its summary is published in the BOCM number 266, dated November 5, 2026, under BDNS number 938434. The maximum budget for this line is 40,000 euros, and applications may be submitted between November 10 and November 30, 2026.
The call is based on articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and its regulatory bases were approved by the same agreement of the Local Government Board on October 23, published on the municipal website. The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database, while the regional bulletin disseminates only the summary with the essential conditions: beneficiaries, purpose, amount, and deadlines.
Requirements: only registered AMPAs of public centers
Entities that meet these conditions may apply for the grants:
- Be a parents’ association or a federation formed by these associations.
- Belong to school centers supported by public funds for early childhood, primary, secondary, and other regulated education, legally recognized by the Community of Madrid.
- Be based in the municipality of Alcalá de Henares.
- Be registered in the City Council’s Municipal Registry of Associations.
Four activity blocks and up to 1,500 euros per entity
The purpose is to finance the activities of local associations and federations during the 2026-2027 academic year. Actions carried out between September 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027, will be eligible for subsidies, provided they are linked to the specific purpose of these entities and do not discriminate between members and non-members regarding access. The summary details four lines:
- Actions that promote family participation in the educational center.
- Information and training activities for families.
- Organization of excursions, cultural or environmental visits, playful-educational proposals, values education, cultural promotion, health, equality, and non-discrimination, with the participation of students or their families.
- In general, any initiative aligned with the functions of parents’ associations that is of educational interest or public utility.
The distribution will be adjusted equitably to the maximum budget of 40,000 euros based on the number of requests. The maximum amount per beneficiary is set at 1,500 euros, and the maximum subsidizable percentage will be 100% of the requested amount, provided that in no case the aid—whether alone or in conjunction with others—exceeds the actual cost of the activity. The economic criteria may be modified according to budget availability.
A calendar with four milestones
- Applications: from November 10 to 30, 2026, through the municipal electronic office and addressed to the Department of Education, using the model in Annex I and case file number 30673/2026.
- Project submission: until March 31, 2027, also via electronic means.
- Execution of activities: from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
- Justification: until July 10, 2027, in accordance with Article 12 of the guidelines.
The summary warns that if the application cannot be registered through the electronic office and must be submitted in person, documentary evidence of the reasons preventing it must be provided. The agreement appears signed in Alcalá de Henares on October 28, 2026, by the Councilor-Delegate for Education and University, Dolores López Bautista.
The call arrives with the school year already underway and families facing the usual expenses of complementary activities; therefore, the three-week period concentrates all requests from the municipality. Interested AMPAs (Parents’ Associations) must verify their registration in the municipal registry before submitting the application, as this is a prerequisite and cannot be rectified after the deadline.
