Albesa calls for grants for non-professional elite athletes

The Albesa City Council has opened the call for grants for non-professional elite athletes for the year 2026, approved by Plenary agreement on June 11, 2026. The call is processed through a competitive bidding procedure and has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida (no. 176, of September 15, 2026), with the official reference CVE BOP-2026_0_176_7621.

Beneficiaries and sporting modalities

Athletes registered as residents in the municipality of Albesa who have participated, individually or collectively, in Catalonia and Spain championships or in tests of special national relevance organized by their federations may apply for the grants. The grassroots sports category covers an age range between 12 and 18 years; once the age of majority is reached, the athlete is evaluated in the senior category.

The modalities recognized by the Catalan Sports Council are 19:

Athletics, cycling, chess, mountain sports, and snow sports
Gymnastics, judo, karate, wrestling, and motorcycling
Swimming, skating, canoeing, rowing, and aquatic rescue
Taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, and triathlon

Amount and eligible expenses

The total amount allocated for the grants is €1,500.00, charged to budget item 340/48003 ELITE ATHLETE GRANT of the 2026 municipal budget. The minimum amount per athlete is €100.00 and the maximum is €500.00, until the budget item is exhausted.

Eligible expenses are considered to be those derived from the acquisition of sports material and technical equipment, licenses and registrations, travel to competitions, and sports nutrition and specific dietary supplementation, provided they are lawful products and duly justified. Expenses must have been incurred between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

Deadlines, evaluation, and justification

The deadline for submitting applications is 15 business days starting from the day after the publication of the call in the BOP. Applications are formalized using the standardized form (Annex I), accompanied by the athlete’s ID (DNI) and federative license, and are submitted electronically or at the municipal entry registry.

The grants are awarded through competitive bidding, with a minimum score of 15 points to be eligible:

Participation in the Catalonia championship with a position among the top 10: 10 points; finalist or podium: 15 points
Participation in the Spanish championship among the top 10: 10 points; finalist or podium: 15 points
Participation in events of high sporting interest with a result among the top three or as finalists: 5 points

Payment is made in a single advance payment, as a down payment, once the grant has been resolved. The supporting documentation must be submitted before March 31, 2027, and the lack of justification may lead to the reimbursement of the subsidy received.
