Albacete appoints eight career officials in Maintenance and Environment

The Albacete City Council has arranged for the appointment of eight new career civil servants in two municipal categories, through separate resolutions dated September 18, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 111, dated September 23, 2026. Five of the appointments correspond to Maintenance Officer positions and the remaining three to Environmental Inspector/Watchman. The announcements, included in the Third Section (Local Administration), bear the reference numbers 24.190 and 24.191.

Regulatory framework and official publication

The two announcements, both dated September 18, 2026, are made public in accordance with article 55.1.b) of Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment of Castilla-La Mancha. The first resolution, number 7549/2026, dated September 18, resolves the selection process for Maintenance Officer; the second, number 7551/2026, of the same date, does the same for the category of Environmental Inspector/Watchman.

Both resolutions are signed by the Delegated Councilor for General Coordination of Municipal Government Operation, Communication between Areas, Councilorships, Services, and Departments, Alberto Reina Moreno, and are published on pages 4 and 5 of the provincial gazette.

Five Maintenance Officers

Resolution 7549/2026 appoints the following persons as career civil servants as Maintenance Officers for the Albacete City Council:

• Internal promotion shift: Hilario Escobar Munera.
• General open access shift: José Manuel García Esteban, Carlos García Fernández, Tomás Molina Monteagudo, and Ángel Manuel Ruiz Moreno.

In total, five candidates who passed the selection process and now join the municipal staff as career civil servants.

Three Environmental Inspectors/Watchmen

For its part, resolution 7551/2026 arranges for the appointment of the following persons as Environmental Inspector/Watchman for the Albacete City Council:

• Internal promotion shift: Juan Sánchez Campayo.
• General open access shift: María del Carmen Alcolea Carrasco and José Joaquín Oliver Palacios.

There are three appointments in this category, which reinforce the environmental surveillance and inspection functions entrusted to the City Council.

One month for taking office

In accordance with section 14.3 of the general bases governing the selection processes convened by the Albacete City Council for the selection of career civil service personnel, published in BOP number 122, of October 18, 2024, the taking of office by those who have passed the selection process shall take place within a period of one month. This period is counted from the day following the date of publication of the appointment as career civil service personnel in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete, that is, from September 24, 2026.

Failure to comply with this deadline by the candidates may lead to consequences in their relationship with the Administration, therefore the date of publication in the provincial gazette is decisive for each of the eight appointees.

Impact on municipal services

The eight appointments consolidate the definitive incorporation of these workers into the staff of the Albacete City Council, after passing the corresponding selection processes. The positions of Maintenance Official and Environmental Inspector directly affect daily services such as the maintenance of municipal facilities and environmental inspection, so their stable coverage reinforces the operational capacity of the City Council. For the candidates, the publication in BOP number 111, of September 23, 2026, marks the beginning of the one-month count to formalize their taking of office.
