Albacete appoints nine municipal social workers as career civil servants
Por FactBox Admin

The Albacete City Council has arranged the appointment as career civil servants in the category of Social Worker for nine people, according to resolution 8478/2026, dated October 20, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete no. 125, dated October 26, 2026. The announcement, dated October 21, appears on page 6 of the Third Section, Local Administration, and is made public in accordance with article 55.1.b) of Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment of Castilla-La Mancha.
The publication closes the administrative phase of the selection process and opens the phase of effective incorporation into the service. The text does not distinguish between access shifts—unlike other appointment announcements from the same council, such as that for Environmental Inspector in resolution 7551/2026—but instead lists the appointed persons in a single list, identified by surnames, first name, and partial digits of their national identity document.
The applicable framework is section 14.3 of the general bases governing the selection processes convened by the Albacete City Council for the selection of career civil servants, approved and published in the BOP no. 122, dated October 18, 2024. That clause establishes the incorporation calendar and is the one reproduced literally in the announcement.
The nine appointments
Resolution 8478/2026 appoints as career civil servants in the role of Social Worker:
- Isabel Galiano Canales
- Lorena López Cifuentes
- María Dolores López Clemente
- Alicia López Tendero
- Álvaro Moya Sáez
- Javier Navarro López
- Soledad Tendero Rubio
- Magdalena Verdejo García
- Raquel Villalva Alcalá
The announcement does not detail the number of positions called, the shift through which each person gained access, nor the destination centers, data which are not included in the official publication.
One month to take office
Pursuant to section 14.3 of the general bases of BOP no. 122, the taking of office “shall take place within a period of one month, counted from the day following the date of publication of the appointment as career civil servant in the Official Gazette of the province of Albacete.” The count therefore begins on October 27, 2026.
The announcement is signed by Alberto Reina Moreno, delegated councilor for General Coordination of Municipal Government Operation, Communication between Areas, Councilorships, Services, and Departments, and bears reference number 28.678 of the provincial gazette.
Parallel movements in the social staff
The appointment coincides with other decisions by the city council regarding the Social Worker category. On September 29, resolution 7900/2026 resolved the general merit competition convened by the agreement of the Local Government Board on June 18, 2026, for General Administration Technician and Social Worker positions, with assignments such as that of María Isabel Mayorga Tarriño to position SH221001 of the Technical Unit of the Municipal Center for Comprehensive Care for Homeless People.
Later in October, resolution 8252/2026, dated October 9, assigned position IT221002 of Social Worker in the Social Integration Technical Unit to Lorena Ortega Martínez-Falero during the resolution phase. These are position filling procedures among existing civil servants, distinct from the selection process that now concludes with nine appointments.
The incorporation of these nine individuals expands the civil service base of a key category in municipal social care, which handles files on dependency, family, exclusion, and social emergency in area social services and technical teams. With the period for taking office already underway, the reinforcement will be effective throughout the next month, barring any incidents in the assumption of duties.
