Albacete summons 440 Local Police candidates for physical tests

The Albacete City Council has approved the final list of admitted and excluded persons in the selection process to fill 18 Local Police positions via open competition, and has set the location, time, and date of the first exercise, the physical fitness test. The decision is detailed in resolution no. 7498/2026, of September 17, issued by the Delegated Councilor for General Coordination of Municipal Government Operations, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete no. 110, of September 21, 2026.

A process with 18 positions and two accumulated employment offers

The called positions are 18 vacancies in the Police category of the Local Police force, included in the Public Employment Offers of 2025 and 2026. The specific rules of the call were approved by agreement of the Local Government Board on June 11, 2026, and were published in the Official Gazette of the Province no. 75, of July 1, 2026, with a subsequent announcement in the Official State Gazette no. 165, of July 8, 2026.

The provisional list of admitted and excluded persons was published in the Official Gazette of the Province no. 98, of August 24, 2026, with a single, non-extendable period of ten business days to correct defects. Those who did not correct them were definitively excluded.

440 admitted and 38 excluded

Following the correction period, the Examining Board, in a session on September 16, 2026, approved the final lists and the calendar for the first exercise. The result is as follows:

• 440 admitted persons, listed alphabetically from Abajo Mayor, Alberto to Zúñiga Carrasco, Álvaro.
• 38 excluded persons, with the reason explicitly indicated.
• Most frequent causes for exclusion: lack of the required driver’s license, lack of the qualifying degree, and failure to pay the examination fees; in several cases, two or three reasons occurred simultaneously.

The resolution is based on the report issued by the Human Resources and Occupational Risk Prevention Service of the Albacete City Council.

Dates, times, and location of the physical test

The first exercise will take place over three days, with staggered morning and afternoon shifts:

• October 14, 2026: shifts at 9:00, 9:50, 10:40, 11:30, 12:20, 16:00, and 16:50 hours.
• October 15, 2026: shifts at 9:00, 9:50, 10:40, 11:30, 12:20, 16:00, and 16:50 hours.
• October 16, 2026: shifts at 9:00, 9:50, 10:40, 11:30, and 12:20 hours.
• Location: Athletics Tracks of the University Campus Pavilion, at calle Guillermina Medrano Aranda, s/n, Albacete.

Each applicant is identified by their document number, surnames, and first name, with the assigned time listed in the official announcement.

Appeal deadlines

The resolution concludes the administrative process and may be optionally appealed for reversal within one month or challenged directly before the contentious-administrative jurisdictional order within two months, both counted from its publication in the Official Provincial Gazette, in accordance with articles 112, 123, and 124 of Law 39/2015 and article 46 of Law 29/1998. The signature corresponds to the Delegated Councilor in exercise of the delegation granted by the Local Government Board by agreement on June 22, 2023.

The publication closes the admission phase and starts the countdown for the hundreds of applicants who will compete for 18 officer positions in the Local Police of the Albacete capital. From now on, each summoned candidate already knows their exact day and time, a decisive piece of data for preparing an eliminatory test that conditions the rest of the selection process.
