Por FactBox Admin

The Albacete City Council has definitively resolved the general merit competition for the filling of vacant career civil servant positions and has awarded six posts for General Administration Technician and Social Worker. The decision is detailed in resolution no. 7900, dated September 29, issued by the Delegated Councilor for General Coordination of Municipal Government Operation, Communication between Areas, Councilorships, Services, and Departments. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete no. 118, dated October 9, 2026, in the Third Section. Local Administration (pp. 17-18, announcement 26.073).
The procedure began with the agreement of the Local Government Board on June 18, 2026, which called for the merit competition to fill positions within the categories of General Administration Technician and Social Worker. The assessment adhered to the general rules published in the BOP no. 135, dated November 22, 2023.
The Assessment Commission, constituted for this purpose by resolution no. 7007/2026, dated September 1, evaluated the claimed merits and agreed upon a provisional award that was published in the BOP no. 106, dated September 11, 2026. After the ten-business-day period for submitting allegations had passed, the Commission, in a session on September 28, 2026, submitted the proposal for the final resolution that now ratifies the file processed by the Human Resources and Occupational Risk Prevention Service.

Deadlines and means of appeal
The resolution concludes the administrative process and opens two alternatives for challenge, counted from its publication in the BOP:
- Optional appeal for reversal before the same body, within a period of one month.
- Direct challenge before the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdictional Order, within a period of two months.
Both deadlines are supported by articles 112, 123, and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, and article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. The signature is made using the delegation granted by the Local Governing Board through the agreement of June 22, 2023.
The award consolidates four social worker positions in the Technical Section of Social Services and in the care center for homeless people, in addition to two technical leadership positions, with a direct effect on municipal social care and on the personnel structure of the Albacete City Council.
