Albacete opens public comment period to expand frozen vegetable industry

The Municipal Management of Urbanism and Housing of the Albacete City Council has opened a public information period for the classification and urban planning license for a new building and installation intended for the expansion and improvement of a frozen vegetable processing industry located on national road 322, at kilometer point 341, of this municipality. The announcement, signed on August 4, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha on August 31, 2026, in its local administration announcements section.

The file, processed under number 1479253T, remains available to interested parties for twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement, so that they may submit any allegations they deem appropriate prior to the final resolution.

Regulatory Framework

The processing is based on articles 60, 61, 63, and 64 of the Recast Text of the Law on Land Use Planning and Urban Activity, approved by Legislative Decree 1/2023, of February 28, as well as articles 43.5 and 44.2 of Decree 177/2010, of July 1, which modifies the Rural Land Regulations approved by Decree 242/2004, of July 27. On this basis, the public hearing process is opened prior to the final decision on the industrial action.

The opening of this process represents a relevant step for the consolidation of the agri-food industry in the surroundings of the N-322, a key road axis for the distribution of frozen products to the rest of the region and the peninsular east. Citizen participation during the allegations period will allow neighbors and affected entities to express their views before the City Council adopts the final resolution regarding the expansion of this plant.
