Grants for companies that hire students for intensive dual vocational training (FP)

The Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera Alemany, has announced financial aid intended for companies and non-profit entities that hire vocational training students under an intensive dual regime during the 2026-2027 academic year. The call, approved via Resolution 8663, is published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) no. 108, of August 29, 2026, in section III, page 46935.

The objective is to encourage the involvement of the productive fabric and the third sector in student training, strengthen the tutoring function, and improve the quality of vocational training in the intensive regime. The measure is part of the implementation of Organic Law 3/2022, on the organization and integration of vocational training, and Law 1/2022, on education in the Balearic Islands, which promote the intensive dual modality as a pathway to labor market insertion.

Beneficiaries and requirements

Eligible beneficiaries may be companies and non-profit entities, public or private, that have hired at least one student enrolled in a vocational training degree under an intensive dual regime, through an alternating training contract formalized between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027. Among the required conditions, the following stand out:

• Having a workplace in the Balearic Islands where the student carries out the work activity.
• Assigning a company tutor or co-tutor to each student responsible for monitoring the training plan.
• Tutors must have completed a sixteen-hour training course for the exercise of tutoring action, organized by the official chambers of commerce of Mallorca, Menorca, or Ibiza and Formentera, or by the ministry itself.

Amount and funding

The call has an initial credit of 200,000 euros, allocated to the 2027 budget year, with a multi-annual character. The amount of the aid is determined based on the number of students hired and the effective duration of the contract:

• A maximum of 2,000 euros for each student hired during the entire eligible period.
• A proportional amount of up to 2,000 euros when the duration of the contract is shorter, calculated in proportion to the actual hiring time.
• Each company or entity may request aid for a maximum of six students.

If the funding is not sufficient to meet all requests, the global amount will be prorated proportionally among the beneficiary entities until the credit is exhausted.

Deadlines and processing

Applications must be submitted exclusively by electronic means, through the procedure enabled on the Electronic Office of the Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, between June 15, 2027 and September 9, 2027, both inclusive. The instructing body is the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Educational Planning, and it is the responsibility of the counselor to issue the resolution of granting or denial. The provisional resolution proposal will be published on September 30, 2027.

The call, electronically signed on August 21, 2026, complies with the regulatory bases of Order 20/2025, of July 9, and the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Autonomous Community for the 2024-2026 financial years. The grants are not considered State aid, as vocational training within the educational system constitutes a non-economic activity.

This measure represents a direct incentive for companies and entities in the Balearic Islands to get involved in the training of vocational training (FP) students, a key factor in preventing school dropout and promoting the labor market integration of young people. With an allocation of 200,000 euros, the call reinforces the collaboration between the educational system and the professional world at a time when intensive dual vocational training is consolidating as a strategic tool for professional qualification.
