Aitona will pave the road to Fraga with an investment of 342,872 euros

The City Council of Aitona has initially approved the basic and execution project for the paving of the Fraga road (first section), with a total budget of 342,872.57 euros including VAT. The decree, signed by Mayor Rosa Pujol Esteve on October 14, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida no. 198, of October 16, 2026, with edict number 8627 and official reference BOP-2026_0_198_8627. The agreement opens a public information period of 30 business days so that any interested party may examine the file and submit allegations.

The project was drafted by municipal technicians and its processing is governed by Article 37 of the Regulations on works, activities, and services of local entities (ROAS), approved by Decree 179/1995. The competence to adopt the resolution corresponds to the Mayor’s Office, by delegation approved by the Plenary in an extraordinary session on October 27, 2020. The file can be consulted at the City Council Secretariat, at carrer Major, 6 in Aitona, on business days, and also on the notice board of the municipal electronic office.

A 1.85-kilometer section from the urban center

The planned action covers the first section of the Fraga road, which runs from the urban center of Aitona to kilometer point 1.85 of this route. It is, therefore, an intervention of slightly less than two kilometers on a road that links the municipality with the rural environment and with communications towards the Segrià region.

The project includes both the basic drafting and the execution project, that is, the document that defines the works to be carried out and serves as the basis for the subsequent bidding and contracting of the works.

Budget and expenditure structure

The decree details the economic figures of the investment:

• Execution amount per contract: 283,365.76 euros.
• VAT at 21%: 59,506.81 euros.
• Total budget, VAT included: 342,872.57 euros.

These amounts are those listed in the administrative file and will serve as the reference for the contracting of the works once the approval is final.

Public information and effects of the approval

The second point of the resolution submits the project to public information for a period of 30 business days, which begins to count the day after the publication of the corresponding announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province. During this period, the file may be examined and allegations and claims may be submitted.

Access to the documentation is channeled through two ways:

• In-person consultation at the Secretariat of the Aitona City Council, carrer Major, 6, on business days.
• Notice board of the municipal electronic office, with entity identifier 2503870005.

The third point of the agreement establishes that the initial approval of the works project shall be considered final if no objections are filed within the fixed deadline. Otherwise, the claims submitted must be resolved before proceeding with the processing.

Impact for the municipality

The paving of the Fraga road responds to a need for road infrastructure in a rural environment where these types of roads support agricultural and local resident traffic. The investment, of nearly 343,000 euros, is one of the largest public works operations that the Aitona City Council is submitting for public exhibition this autumn, and its schedule will depend on the result of the objections period and the subsequent tender.
