AIPO, 1.2 million variant for the Dora Riparia embankments

The Interregional Agency for the Po River (AIPO) has published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic, 5th Special Series - Public Contracts n. 107 of September 21, 2026, the variation during the works for the completion of the embankment works of the Dora Riparia river to protect the town of Bussoleno, in the province of Turin. The contract amount increases from 1,123,488.00 euros to 1,223,164.38 euros. The notice is identified by the official reference TX26BFG402.

The modification requested by the Municipality of Bussoleno
The variation entails an increase in expenditure and was prepared due to unforeseen and unpredictable causes pursuant to Article 106, paragraph 1, letter c), of Legislative Decree 50/2016. According to what was published, it also became necessary following a specific request from the Municipality of Bussoleno.
The adjustment mainly concerns the revision of intervention no. 9 - Typological Section C, planned on the right bank of the Dora Riparia downstream of the old bridge, in the center of Bussoleno. The modification is aimed at:
- safeguarding the root system of the avenue’s trees;
- reducing the visual impact of the wall;
- adopting a different construction solution, based on the consolidation of the existing masonry structure and the insertion of mobile panels.

The variation appraisal was drawn up pursuant to Article 106, paragraph 1, letter c), of the Contracts Code and concerns works introduced in the variation admitted in the exclusive interest of the administration and to guarantee greater efficiency of the intervention. The published economic and technical data are as follows:

The operation directly concerns Piedmont and the hydraulic safety of the area: the upgrading of the embankments of the Dora Riparia downstream of the old bridge of Bussoleno affects the protection of the inhabited center from floods, with a total additional cost of 99,676.38 euros compared to the original amount.
