Ahillones opens applications for the position of Justice of the Peace Court Secretary

The Ahillones City Council has called for the appointment of a Secretary of the Justice of the Peace Court for the town, a position that is currently vacant. Interested parties have a period of 20 calendar days, counting from the day following the publication of the edict, to submit their application to the Mayor’s Office.

The call is made public through the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz, number 165, dated August 28, 2026, via announcement 3399/2026, in the Local Administration, City Councils section.

Requirements to apply for the position

To be appointed, the candidate must meet the requirements established by current regulations. Specifically, the following are required:

  • To be a Spanish national and of legal age.
  • Not to be subject to any of the causes of incapacity provided for in Article 303 of Organic Law 6/1985, of July 1, of the Judiciary.
  • Not to be physically or mentally impaired for the exercise of judicial functions.
  • Not to have been convicted of an intentional crime, unless rehabilitation has been obtained.
  • Not to be prosecuted or indicted for an intentional crime, until acquitted or a dismissal order is issued.
  • To be in full exercise of civil rights.

Documentation to be submitted

The application, addressed to the Mayor’s Office, must be accompanied by documentation proving the suitability of the applicant. Required documents include:

  • Photocopy of the DNI (National ID).
  • Academic qualifications.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Documentation proving any merits claimed.

A key position for proximity justice

The Justice of the Peace Court is the basic judicial instance in municipalities without their own judicial district, and its Secretary performs an essential function in the processing of minor civil and criminal matters, as well as in the civil registry. Filling this vacancy is of interest both to jurists and legal professionals and to the residents of Ahillones, who depend on this body for the resolution of their daily procedures.

The edict, signed by the Mayor, M.ª del Rosario González Andrés, is published for general knowledge, so that all persons who meet the requirements may submit their candidacy within the established period.
