Aguas de la Zona Gaditana summons civil service candidates for October exams.

Por FactBox Admin

The Gaditano Area Water Consortium (CAZG) has approved the final lists of admitted and excluded persons for nine selection processes in its 2024 Public Employment Offer, has appointed the assessment panels, and has summoned applicants to the first exercise of the competitive phase, which will be held in October. This is set out in the resolutions of the Consortium’s Presidency, signed on 31 July 2026 and published this 14 August in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz (No. 156, resolutions 256.412 to 256.453, MISCELLANEOUS section).

The nine processes, processed through the competitive-examination system for permanent labour staff, cover 13 positions for technical and trade profiles: four water treatment plant operators, two control centre operators, and one each of laboratory analyst, driver, electromechanical technician, plumber, welder, electrician and security guard. The calls for applications were published in Official State Gazette (BOE) No. 46, of 20 February 2026, and in the Cádiz Provincial Gazette (BOP) No. 5, of 9 January 2026 (that of analyst, in BOE No. 53, and that of driver, in BOE No. 96 and BOP No. 67). Following the provisional lists and the allegations procedure, the Presidency has made the lists final and has resolved the requests for correction.

Final lists: 82 admitted and more than a hundred excluded

Across the nine processes there are 82 admitted applicants, with the following results:

  • Water treatment plant operator: 3 admitted; laboratory analyst: 24; control centre operator: 9; driver: 3; electromechanical technician: 15; plumber: 3; welder: 10; electrician: 14; security guard: 1.
  • The most repeated grounds for exclusion are failure to submit Annex I or Annex II, failure to provide the ID card, failure to prove the required qualification or lack of the driving licence; in the driver process, the ADR and CPC permits are also added.

Assessment panels

Each resolution appoints its panel in accordance with Base Six, chaired in all cases by Rocío Flores Machuca (chair) and Marcos A. Vives Rubí (alternate), with María Rasco Julbes as secretary general. Its members must abstain when any of the circumstances set out in articles 23 and 24 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, apply, and applicants may challenge them.

Examination schedule at the Central Office

The tests, all at the Consortium’s Central Office, 3 Ancha Street, Jerez de la Frontera, are as follows:

  • 1 October (Thursday): control centre operator, at 9:00; security guard, at 10:30; driver, at 12:00.
  • 2 October (Friday): electrician, at 9:00.
  • 6 October (Tuesday): electromechanical technician, at 9:00.
  • 7 October (Wednesday): plumber and welder, at 9:00.
  • 8 October (Thursday): water treatment plant operator, at 9:00.
  • 9 October (Friday): laboratory analyst, at 9:00.

The first exercise, provided for in the Seventh Rule, will consist of a multiple-choice questionnaire. Candidates must attend with their national ID card (DNI) or another identifying document and a black or blue ink pen; the use of mobile phones and electronic devices in the classrooms is prohibited.

Notification and appeals

Publication in the bulletin and on the notice board of the electronic office shall have the effect of notification for the interested parties, in accordance with Articles 45 et seq. of Law 39/2015. Against each resolution, which puts an end to the administrative procedure, an optional appeal for reconsideration may be lodged within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.

With these summons, the Consortium, whose president is Andrés Díaz Rodríguez, is accelerating the recruitment of essential trades and technical profiles for the water supply and sanitation of the municipalities of the Gaditana Zone. The 82 admitted candidates, largely from Jerez and the Bay, already have a day, time and place set for the examination that opens the competitive phase.
