Provisional teaching assignments awarded for the 2026/27 academic year

The General Directorate of Centers and Human Resources of the Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training has definitively awarded provisional destinations for the 2026/27 academic year among teaching staff without a fixed destination. The resolution, signed on August 3, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (Diario Oficial de Galicia) no. 157, of August 20, 2026, in section IV on oppositions and competitions, and also on the department’s portal.

The competition had been convened by means of the Resolution of June 9, 2026 (DOG no. 113, of June 18), and the definitive award is carried out in accordance with the rules established by the Order of June 7, 2018 (DOG no. 113, of June 14). The resolution bears the official reference CVE-DOG: hwr6ytt9-rzn6-dq67-i3w2-ed4o6qsylza0 and is signed by Jesús Manuel Álvarez Bértolo, General Director of Centers and Human Resources.

Recipient Personnel

The award affects teaching staff from the bodies of education inspectors, professors and teachers of secondary education, technical teachers of vocational training, specialist teachers in singular sectors of vocational training, professors and teachers of official language schools, music and performing arts, plastic arts and design, and the body of primary school teachers. Specifically, it includes:

• Personnel who do not have a definitive destination in the Autonomous Community of Galicia.
• Those displaced due to lack of timetable.
• Personnel on service commission as councilors, for health reasons, or for the reconciliation of family and work life.
• Interim and substitute personnel.
• Career civil servant personnel requesting reentry into active service.

Effectiveness and Taking Possession

The definitive award will take effect the day following its publication on the department’s Internet portal. Pursuant to article 41 of the Order of June 7, 2018, the awarded personnel shall take possession at the destination educational center and shall be incorporated with economic and administrative effectiveness from September 1, 2026, regardless of the start date of teaching activities set by the Order of June 4, 2026 (DOG no. 110, of June 15), which approves the school calendar for the 2026/27 course.

Appointments will be sent to the email addresses of the interested persons.

Appeals

Against this resolution, which ends the administrative route, interested persons may file an optional appeal for reversal, by electronic means, through the procedure enabled in process ED002B, before the head of the General Directorate of Centers and Human Resources, within one month from its publication in the DOG. Alternatively, they may directly file a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the competent contentious-administrative court, in accordance with Law 29/1998, of July 13.

This resolution represents a key step for Galician teachers without a fixed destination, who now know their assigned center for the coming school year and can plan their incorporation starting September 1, in a call that affects thousands of teachers among civil servants, interim staff, and substitutes.
