Destinations of the judicial assistance corps in Galicia awarded

Por FactBox Admin

The General Directorate of Justice has allocated postings in Galician judicial offices to the civil servant personnel of the judicial assistance corps (free turn) who passed the selective tests for entry into the Administration of Justice. The resolution, dated July 31, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) number 159, on August 24, and sets the assumption of office starting from September 1.

The allocation is part of the selective tests convened by Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28, for entry into the judicial assistance corps of the Administration of Justice within the scope of the Autonomous Community of Galicia. The candidates were appointed as career civil servants by the Order of July 31, 2026, and now receive their postings in accordance with articles 28 and 29 of Royal Decree 1451/2005, of December 7, which regulates the entry and provision of positions for personnel in the service of the Administration of Justice.

Assumption of office and deadlines

Civil servants of the judicial assistance corps who are granted a posting must assume their office in the corresponding territorial department of the Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Sports within a period of twenty (20) business days starting from September 1, 2026. The deadline is adjusted to article 29 of Royal Decree 1451/2005 and article 30 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations.

Special situations

The resolution contemplates several scenarios for personnel who already provide services in the Administration of Justice:

  • Those who are already holders of the procedural and administrative management corps or procedural and administrative processing corps and opt to remain active will not need to relocate; it will be sufficient to communicate the option for the declaration of voluntary leave provided for in article 506.d) of Organic Law 6/1985, of the judicial power.
  • They may request paid leave of one day if there is no change of location, two days otherwise, and up to three days for those who must travel from the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Ceuta, or Melilla.
  • Interim civil servants occupying the allocated positions will cease their duties on the same day that the holder assumes office.

Allocated postings

Annex I of the resolution lists the postings assigned to the successful candidates:

  • María Esther Rodríguez Cancela — SCX of Pontevedra-Registration-Distribution Area and General Affairs, Pontevedra.
  • José Manuel Padín Losada — SCX of Lugo-Registration-Distribution Area and General Affairs, Lugo.
  • Mariela Cacheiro Villarino — Common Processing Service of the Court of First Instance of O Barco de Valdeorras (Guards), O Barco de Valdeorras (Ourense).

Restrictions and appeals

Persons appointed, including those appointed compulsorily by order of qualification, may not participate in transfer competitions until two years have elapsed from the date of the resolution. The positions offered through the Resolution of May 22, 2026 (Official State Gazette of June 5) that were not awarded maintain their status as vacant. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the resolution within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.

The resolution, signed in Santiago de Compostela by the Director General of Justice, José Tronchoni Albert, allows for the filling of vacancies in Galician judicial offices and the reinforcement of judicial support staff, with effective incorporation planned for the beginning of September.
