La Solana mining permit admitted in the Briviesca region

The Regional Government of Castilla y León has definitively admitted the mining research permit «La Solana», which affects 12 grids within the municipal boundaries of Castil de Peones, Briviesca, Quintanavides, and Reinoso. The decision, adopted on June 8, 2026, was made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos number 157, dated August 20, 2026, and opens a thirty-day period for interested parties to examine the file and participate in the processing of the restoration plan.
The announcement is signed by María Dolores Velasco Lajo, head of the Territorial Service of Industry, Trade, and Economy of the Territorial Delegation of the Regional Government in Burgos, the competent body to authorize the restoration plan. The publication is carried out in accordance with article 51.1 of the Mining Law 22/1973, and article 70.2 of the General Regulation for the Mining Regime, approved by Royal Decree 2857/1978, of August 25.
The research permit
The permit, identified by number 4,944 and named «La Solana», is being processed for resources under Section C) of the mining legislation. Its promoter is the company Hormigones Premezclados Álava, S.A.

- Surface area: 12 mining grids.
- Affected municipalities: Castil de Peones, Briviesca, Quintanavides, and Reinoso.

Public participation and restoration plan
The publication is also carried out for the purposes of article 6 of Royal Decree 975/2009, of June 12, which regulates public participation regarding the authorization of the restoration plan. During the thirty-day period, any person with the status of an interested party may examine the file and submit observations.
