Mining research permit Jaime Ampliación admitted in Jaén

The Territorial Delegation of Economy, Finance and European Funds and University, Industry, Energy and Innovation in Jaén has definitively admitted the application for the Research Permit “Jaime Ampliación” no. 16,286, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 178, dated September 14, 2026. The resolution, signed by the territorial delegate Javier Calvente Gallego, opens a 15-day period for interested parties to appear in the proceedings.

The permit, admitted on August 25, 2026, is processed under the current Mining Law for resources of section C), specifically ophites and other resources of said section, over a surface of two mining grids located in the municipal districts of Campillo de Arenas and Cambil (Jaén). The application was submitted by the entity Áridos Técnicos, S.A.

Object and delimitation of the permit

The research project defines the definitive designation of the area through four vertices of geographic coordinates referred to the Greenwich meridian, according to the European Terrestrial Reference System (ETRS89):

• PP-1: longitude 3º 36’ 40’’ and latitude 37º 36’ 40''
• Vertex 2: longitude 3º 36’ 00’’ and latitude 37º 36’ 40''
• Vertex 3: longitude 3º 36’ 00’’ and latitude 37º 36’ 20''
• Vertex 4: longitude 3º 36’ 40’’ and latitude 37º 36’ 20''

The resulting surface covers two complete mining grids, in accordance with the delimitation established in the project submitted by the applicant.

Deadline and means for allegations

The announcement is published so that all those who have the status of interested parties may appear in the proceedings within a period of 15 days, counted from the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette, in accordance with Article 70 of the General Regulation for the Mining Regime. After said period, no opposition will be admitted.

The documentary information is available by appointment via the Citizen Service telephone 012, as well as on the Transparency portal of the Junta de Andalucía, within the same period. The announcement is also displayed on the notice boards of the town halls of Campillo de Arenas and Cambil.

Relevance for the territory

The processing of this research permit represents a preliminary step for the eventual exploitation of section C) resources in the region, with potential economic and employment impact in the affected municipalities. Citizen participation during the allegations period is key so that interested parties can assert their rights before the file continues its administrative processing.
