Fixed ATE-Caregiver positions awarded in the Extremadura stabilization process

The General Directorate of Public Service of the Department of Finance, Public Administration and Social Dialogue has announced the awarding of positions as permanent labor staff in the category of ATE-Caregiver for the Administration of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The resolution, signed on August 26, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura number 168, dated August 31, 2026, with reference 2026062220.

The employment contracts as permanent labor staff will have a start date of September 10, 2026, and will be formalized and registered in the General Personnel Registry by the head of the Department.

Stabilization Framework

The awarding is part of the stabilization processes for the reduction of temporary employment in the public sector, convened through Orders of December 23, 2022 (DOE number 247, dated December 28), modified by Orders of December 17, 2024 (DOE number 247, dated December 23). The processes were handled via the competitive examination procedure (concurso-oposición) and the exceptional merit-based competition system.

In accordance with section 3 of the tenth clause of the convening orders, and following the Resolution of August 5, 2026 (DOE number 153, dated August 10), applicants were called to a public act for the selection of positions held on August 25, 2026, where destinations were awarded according to the order of the total score obtained.

Awarded Destinations

The positions are distributed between the departments of Health and Social Services and Education, Science and Vocational Training, with destinations in towns such as Plasencia, Don Benito, Badajoz, Monesterio, Jerez de los Caballeros and other areas of the region. Among the awardees are, among others:

• María Isabel Santiago Jiménez (Health, Plasencia) and María Rosario Valiente Ortiz (Education, zone 13 Plasencia), via competitive examination.
• Rosa María Santos Martín (Health, Plasencia), María Mercedes Díaz Ramos (Education, Monesterio) and Mónica Miguel Retortillo (Health, Don Benito), via merit-based competition.
• Gloria Infante González and María García Petisco (Health, Badajoz), and Montserrat Ortiz Hernández (Education, Jerez de los Caballeros).

Waivers and Effects

The resolution nullifies, due to waiver, the inclusion of three applicants in the list of selected persons: Cecilia López Martínez, Manuela González Hidalgo and Inés Lucrecia Rodríguez Quesada. In the event that any awardee is in a situation of temporary disability, the assumption of office will occur from the date of medical discharge.

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an appeal for reversal may be filed before the Ministry within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court within two months, starting from the day following its publication.

The publication consolidates the filling of positions in a category essential to the region’s health and educational services, providing job stability to dozens of workers who until now held temporary positions, within the framework of the regional commitment to reduce temporary employment in the public sector.
