Grazing rights for Monte El Carrascal awarded for 315,200 euros

The City Council of Valencia de Alcántara has awarded the grazing rights of Public Forest no. 96 “El Carrascal” for the 2026-2030 seasons to the company Explotaciones Agropecuarias Galavis Torrens S.L., for a total amount of 315,200 euros. The decision was adopted by Resolution dated August 28, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 173, dated September 10, 2026 (CVE: BOP-2026-4245).

The procedure was processed via Mayoral Resolution number 2026-0372, dated July 7, 2026, and was announced in BOP number 135, dated July 17, 2026. This publication is carried out for the purposes of publicity and transparency, with the full documentation available in the Mayor’s contractor profile, located on the Public Sector Procurement Platform.

Award by lots

The grazing rights have been structured into three lots, two of which have been awarded to the same company and a third of which remained vacant:

• Lot 1. Las Cancillas: awarded to Explotaciones Agropecuarias Galavis Torrens S.L. for 168,400.00 euros.
• Lot 2. Gamonales: awarded to Explotaciones Agropecuarias Galavis Torrens S.L. for 146,800.00 euros.
• Lot 3. La Paloma: declared vacant.

Lot 3 vacant due to lack of guarantee

Lot 3 (La Paloma) remained vacant as the bidder failed to comply with the obligation to provide the final guarantee within the established deadline, as stated in the resolution incorporated into the file. Since the award for this lot could not be finalized, the grazing rights for that plot remain without an awardee.

Relevance for the livestock sector

The award of the grazing rights of the El Carrascal Forest is of special interest to the local livestock sector of Valencia de Alcántara, which depends on these communal resources for extensive livestock feeding. The resolution, signed by Mayor Alberto Piris Guapo, guarantees the continuity of livestock farming in two of the three lots during the 2026-2030 four-year period, while the vacant lot must be subject to a new process.
