Adeje calls for preliminary records to expropriate properties on the Chío-Los Olivos line

The General Directorate of Energy, under the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands, has called for the drawing up of records prior to occupation in the compulsory expropriation procedure to execute the 66 kV Chío-Los Olivos power line, in the municipality of Adeje. The appearance of the affected owners will take place on October 8, 2026, at the facilities assigned by the Adeje City Council, according to the schedule set for each affected party. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, number 109, of September 11, 2026, with registration 301242 and page 25788.

Administrative and Legal Framework

The project, processed under file number AT-25/004, was authorized by the Resolution of the General Directorate of Energy No. 663/2026, of April 24, which granted administrative authorization and declared the public utility of the installation. The declaration of public utility, in accordance with Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, and Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, implies the need for the occupation of the affected assets and their urgent occupation, for the purposes of Article 52 of the Compulsory Expropriation Law of December 16, 1954.

In the expropriation file, the company RED ELÉCTRICA, S.A.U. assumes the status of beneficiary entity. The announcement is electronically signed by the Director General of Energy, Alberto Hernández Suárez, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on August 20, 2026.

Obligations of the Affected Owners

Interested parties, as well as the holders of any rights and interests over the affected assets, must attend personally or be represented by duly authorized persons. They must provide:

• The National Identity Document.
• Documents proving their ownership.
• The latest receipt of the Real Estate Tax (IBI).
• They may be accompanied, at their own expense, by an expert and a notary if they deem it appropriate.

In the event of acting through a representative, such representation must be accredited in accordance with Article 5.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. If, due to force majeure, the record cannot be drawn up, it will be understood that it will take place on the first following business day, at the same time.

Affected Properties and Allegations

The annex of the announcement contains the specific and individualized list of assets and rights requiring expropriation, with plots in the underground and aerial sections of the line. Among the owners are Betancor Curbelo, Bosch Betancor, Betancor Burgoyne, Curbelo Doreste, Bravo de Laguna Betancor, Meenen Jacobs, and Molina Betancor, with cadastral references such as 38001A00600214, 38001A00600213, 38001APOLP0004, and 38001APOLP0006. Temporary occupations are set for six months, with areas ranging from 6 m² to 1,600 m², and the appearances have been scheduled for October 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

In accordance with Article 56.2 of the Regulations of the Compulsory Expropriation Law, the owners and other interested parties may submit to the General Directorate of Energy (Administrative Coordination Service) as many allegations as they deem appropriate, solely for the purpose of correcting possible errors in the list of affected assets and rights. The announcement will be notified to the Adeje City Council and to interested parties with a known address; its publication in the Official State Gazette, the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, the Official Provincial Gazette, the city council’s notice board, and at least two provincial newspapers will serve as notification to unknown interested parties or those with an unknown address.
