Acequia Solar: the 44 MW photovoltaic plant is released for public information

The Industry and Energy Functional Area Department of the Government Sub-delegation in Guadalajara has submitted for public information the request for prior administrative and construction authorization for the modifications, along with the specific declaration of public utility, of the Acequia Solar photovoltaic plant, with an installed capacity of 44 MW. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 171, dated September 7, 2026, under file PFot-602.

The processing is framed within Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector, and Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, which regulate the authorization procedures for electrical installations. The project, promoted by Acequia Solar, S.L.U., with CIF B88498969, affects the municipal boundaries of Guadalajara and Tórtola de Henares, with a total material execution budget of 23,941,568.26 euros.

A project relocated due to the Green Infrastructure Plan

The request proposes a modification of the already authorized project, relocating the plant and its 30 kV evacuation to make it compatible with the Green Infrastructure Plan (PIV), approved in 2025 by the Guadalajara City Council. The installation will be located on several plots of polygon 501 in the hamlet of Valdenoches, with a fenced area of 72.62 hectares.

• Peak power: 50.66 MWp monofacial; installed power: 44 MW; granted power at the connection point: 37.5 MW.
• 69,888 bifacial photovoltaic modules with 725 Wp monocrystalline cells, on north-south axis trackers.
• 125 inverters of 352 kVA and 9 transformation centers.
• Three-circuit evacuation network with medium-voltage underground lines, with a length of 26,609 meters, up to the ST Taracena substation.

Public utility and land expropriation

The specific declaration of public utility will implicitly entail the need for occupation of assets or acquisition of the affected rights, and will imply urgent occupation for the purposes of the Compulsory Expropriation Law. The list of affected assets and rights includes plots from polygons 4, 5, 7, and 8 of Tórtola de Henares and 501 and 504 of Guadalajara, with permanent occupation, piping easement, and temporary occupation impacts.

The announcement replaces and nullifies the one published in September 2025 (BOE No. 218, of September 10, 2025), exclusively regarding the Acequia Solar plant and its 30 kV evacuation lines.

Period for allegations and consultation

Interested parties, especially the affected owners and holders, may consult the modified project and the Environmental Impact Study, as well as submit allegations within thirty days from the publication of the announcement. The documentation can be consulted at the Industry and Energy Department of the Government Sub-delegation in Guadalajara, at Avenida de Francia nº 18, or through the link provided by the Administration.

Allegations shall be submitted through the General Electronic Registry of the General State Administration, necessarily indicating the file number PFot-602. The announcement is signed by Juan Carlos Jiménez Martínez, head of the Industry and Energy Department, dated September 2, 2026.

Relevance

The Acequia Solar plant is part of a photovoltaic complex that shares evacuation infrastructures with the Vega Solar and Bancal Solar plants, and its processing directly affects dozens of landowners in Guadalajara and Tórtola de Henares, whose assets could be expropriated. Citizen participation in this process is key to correcting possible omissions in the list of affected parties and guaranteeing the rights of the residents.
