Abejar auctions timber from two public forests to the highest bidder

The Abejar City Council has put up for public auction the disposal of timber harvesting rights from public utility forests no. 104 and no. 119, in two announcements published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria no. 112, dated September 25, 2026 (official reference BOPSO-112-25092026, documents 1743 and 1744). The specifications were approved by the City Council Plenary on September 18, 2026, and proposals may be submitted until 2:00 PM on the tenth business day following publication. The award will be decided based on the best price, with a single evaluation criterion.

The two announcements correspond to different procedures regarding the same forests: the first calls for the sixth auction of the harvesting rights for forest no. 104 for the year 2025 and no. 119 for the 2025 fiscal year, while the second calls for the third auction of the 2026 regeneration cuts. In both cases, the processing is ordinary and the procedure is that of the most economically advantageous offer with a single award criterion: the price. The contracting authority is the Abejar City Council, through the General Secretariat, and the announcements appear signed in Abejar on September 21, 2026, by the mayor, Carolina Romero Plazas.

Four timber lots with appraised starting prices

The auction is divided into four lots, two per announcement, all consisting of Scots pine marked for regeneration cutting and with a unit appraisal set by the corporation:

• Lot no. 1 (document 1743): file SO-MAD-1258-2025, forest no. 104 C.U.P., section A, stands 8 and 9 (El Navazo); 332 metric pines, 400.90 cubic meters of timber with bark, at 33.00 euros per cubic meter, for a total of 13,229.70 euros.
• Lot no. 2 (document 1743): file SO-MAD-1274-2025, forest no. 119 C.U.P., stands 5 and 20, Los Hoyones area; 1,200 metric pines and 312 smaller ones, 857.36 cubic meters, at 38.00 euros per cubic meter, for a total of 32,579.68 euros.
• Lot no. 1 (document 1744): file SO-MAD-0299-2026 (1/1), forest no. 104 C.U.P., stands 8 and 9; 408 metric pines, 304.01 cubic meters, at 33.00 euros per cubic meter, for a total of 10,032.31 euros.
• Lot no. 2 (document 1744): file SO-MAD-1045-2026 (1/1), forest no. 119 C.U.P., stand 20; 681 metric pines, 738.18 cubic meters, at 38.00 euros per cubic meter, for a total of 28,050.84 euros.

Altogether, the timber offered amounts to 2,300.45 cubic meters with bark, and the base tender budget for the four lots totals 83,892.53 euros.

Guarantees, offer deadline, and opening of proposals

Each lot requires a provisional guarantee of 3% of the tender price and a definitive guarantee of 5% of the award price. The bidder is obliged to maintain their offer for the duration of the contracting procedure.

• Submission deadline: until 2:00 PM on the tenth business day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria, counted from the day after publication.
• Location: offices of the Abejar City Council.
• Opening of economic proposals: by the Contracting Board, at the City Council, at 1:00 PM on the Monday, Wednesday, or Friday immediately following the third business day after the end of the submission period.
• Documentation: as listed in the specific economic-administrative clauses specifications, adjusted to the model provided therein.

The call for tenders is of direct interest to the forestry sector of the Pinares region, which finds in these municipal auctions one of its main means of access to standing timber. The fact that this is the sixth and third call for the respective lots indicates that previous ones remained vacant, meaning that the starting price and the conditions for the 2025 and 2026 regeneration cuts are once again submitted to the market at a key moment for the planning of timber companies and silvicultural work in the area.
