Ababuj provisionally approves its water and waste ordinances

Por FactBox Admin

The Ababuj City Council has provisionally approved the modification of two of its tax ordinances: the fee for the domestic drinking water supply service and the waste collection fee. The agreements, adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session held on August 10, 2026, are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel number 164, dated August 28, 2026, and are subject to public consultation for thirty days.

Two ordinances in process

The announcements, numbered 2026-2528 and 2026-2529, record the provisional approval of the modification of both tax ordinances. The first affects the fee for the domestic drinking water supply service, while the second refers to the waste collection fee, two taxes that levy essential services provided to all taxpayers in the municipality.

The process is based on Article 17.2 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which regulates the approval procedure for local tax ordinances.

Period for allegations

During the public consultation period, any interested party may examine the file at the municipal offices and submit any claims or allegations they deem appropriate. The period is thirty days, counted from the day following the insertion of the announcements in the provincial gazette.

  • Public consultation period: 30 days from publication in the BOP of Teruel.
  • Examination of the file: at the municipal offices of Ababuj.
  • Submission of allegations: by any interested party during the aforementioned period.

Final approval

If no claims have been submitted after the period has elapsed, the agreements will be considered definitively approved without the need for a new resolution. Otherwise, the Plenary must resolve the submitted allegations before the final approval of the ordinances.

The modification of these two fees directly affects the residents of Ababuj, who will see the tax regime updated for two basic services such as drinking water supply and waste collection. Publication in the official gazette guarantees the transparency of the procedure and opens the door to citizen participation before the new ordinances come into force.
