Por FactBox Admin

Retten i Aarhus has summoned Ramzzi Wahid Khalil, who has been missing since mid-August 2016, to a court hearing on 20 November 2026 that will decide whether a death-presumption judgment is issued over him. The summons was published in Statstidende on 13 October 2026 under the Danish act on missing persons, and anyone able to provide further information in the case is called to appear. The notice is dated 9 October 2026 and carries the official reference S09102026-19.
The announcement appears in the gazette’s section for summonses and notices to persons and companies, and is issued under § 12, stk. 2, of Lov om borteblevne, the Danish act governing persons who have disappeared. The request that a death-presumption judgment be handed down was made under § 6, stk. 1, cf. § 5, of the same act. Statstidende is Denmark’s official publication for statutory announcements, issued by Civilstyrelsen under Justitsministeriet.

The legal basis and what the court will decide
According to the notice, Ramzzi Wahid Khalil has been missing since the middle of August 2016 — a period of just over ten years by the time the hearing is held. The court states that it will decide in connection with the hearing whether a death-presumption judgment can be issued over him.
The summons itself is issued under § 12, stk. 2, of Lov om borteblevne, while the underlying request rests on § 6, stk. 1, cf. § 5. The notice does not set out the evidence behind the request, nor does it name the party that applied for the judgment.
A public call for information
The notice is addressed not only to the missing man but to the public: any person who can provide further information in the case is expressly encouraged to appear as set out above. Because the whereabouts of Ramzzi Wahid Khalil are unknown, the summons is published in the gazette rather than served personally.
Those with a direct interest in the outcome include:
- Family members seeking legal certainty about a relative who has been missing for a decade.
- Creditors with outstanding claims against the missing man.
- Parties handling his estate and any inheritance or insurance matters.
- Any other person holding information about his disappearance after August 2016.
Why it matters
A death-presumption judgment is the legal step that allows the affairs of a person who has disappeared to be settled, and the 20 November hearing is the point at which Retten i Aarhus decides whether that step can be taken. Until then, the case remains open to anyone who can supply information, which is why the court has published the summons in Statstidende rather than relying on personal service. The outcome will determine whether Ramzzi Wahid Khalil is legally treated as deceased, closing a case that has run for more than ten years.
