Aarhus court confiscates Citroën and orders second defendant to pay costs
Por FactBox Admin

Retten i Aarhus has ordered the confiscation of a Citroën passenger car from Husen Abdirashid Yasin and required a second, anonymised defendant to pay the costs of the case. The judgment, dated 9 October 2026 in case 7-1925/2026, was published in Statstidende on 15 October 2026 because ordinary service on the defendant was not possible. The notice is the only public record of the outcome.
The announcement appears under the heading “Øvrige retslige kundgørelser · Forkyndelse af domme” (other judicial announcements · service of judgments), the channel Danish courts use when a judgment cannot be served through the national digital mailbox, by telephone or in person. Under §159(2) of the Danish Administration of Justice Act (retsplejeloven), the full text of the judgment can be obtained from the issuing court; the gazette notice reproduces only the operative part of the ruling.
The case was brought by the Anklagemyndigheden (the prosecution) against Husen Abdirashid Yasin, born 7 July 1987, and a second defendant identified only as Tiltalte 2 (Defendant 2), whose name is anonymised in the published version. The key official identifiers are:
- Court: Retten i Aarhus, Tinghuset, Vester Allé 10, 8000 Aarhus C.
- Court case number: 7-1925/2026.
- Police case number: 4200-71281-00166-23.
- Date of judgment: 9 October 2026.
- Publication: Statstidende, 15 October 2026, message S13102026-318.
What the court decided
- Confiscation from Husen Abdirashid Yasin of a passenger car of the make Citroën, chassis number VF7LC9HZH9Y559914 (registration DN34024).
- Tiltalte 2 must pay the costs of the case.
- The judgment was handed down by judge Hanne Rokkjær Fløe.
The published extract does not state the charge, the sentence imposed on either defendant, or the value of the vehicle. Only the confiscation order and the costs ruling are reproduced in the gazette.
How the judgment was served
The court states that the judgment is served in Statstidende because other forms of service have not been possible. A transcript is available for collection at Retten i Aarhus, Tinghuset, Vester Allé 10, 8000 Aarhus C, telephone 99687800, journal number 7-1925/2026. Guidance on the rules for appeal and reopening in criminal cases decided by a city court is also available at the court.
The notice is signed by Retten i Aarhus on 13 October 2026 by Gurli Ask Nielsen, and was carried in the Statstidende issue of 15 October 2026 as message S13102026-318.
Public service as a last resort
Public service through the official gazette is a fallback mechanism: the court must first attempt service through the digital mailbox, by telephone or in person, and only then publish the operative part of the judgment. Between 28 August and 15 October 2026, Statstidende carried at least nine such “Forkyndelse af domme” notices, issued by courts including Retten i Aarhus, Retten i Kolding, Retten i Næstved and Østre Landsret.
For readers, the notice is the only publicly available account of a confiscation order that would otherwise have gone unrecorded: because service failed, the gazette text — not a court press release — is where the outcome of case 7-1925/2026 can be verified. Anyone needing the full judgment, including the charges and any sentence, must request it from Retten i Aarhus under §159(2) of the Administration of Justice Act.
