A Xunta reparte 200.000 euros entre 27 publicacións periódicas en galego

The General Secretariat of Media, under the Presidency of the Xunta de Galicia, has made public the companies benefiting from the economic grants for periodic publications written entirely in Galician called for the year 2026. The resolution, signed on September 11, 2026, by the general secretary Pedro Francisco Rojo Otero, appears in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 177, of September 17, 2026, in section III (Other provisions), pages 49068 and 49069. In total, 27 titles share 200,000 euros.

The publication is made under article 15 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, and article 24 of the Resolution of December 19, 2025, of the General Secretariat of Media, which approves the regulatory bases and calls for the 2026 line (DOG no. 7, of January 13). This is a call under a competitive bidding regime aimed at companies that publish periodic publications written entirely in Galician.

The funding is charged to budget applications 04.03.151A.470.0 and 04.03.461A.470.0 of the general budgets of the Autonomous Community of Galicia for the year 2026. The resolution bears the official reference CVE-DOG: qctsb0m7-fjl4-vds9-riq0-1owe9ovtd6y6.

A line of direct support for the publishing sector

The call is one of the ways of direct support for periodic publishing in Galician and comes after the bases were approved in December 2025 and called for in January 2026. The now-published resolution closes the granting process by publicizing the selected entities, as required by the subsidy regulations.

The grants cover titles of regional and local scope, along with projects of autonomous scope, and are distributed among commercial companies and natural persons.
