The Xunta publishes grants for hiring job counselors in municipalities

The General Directorate of Training and Qualification for Employment published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 166, of September 2, 2026) the resolution of August 24, 2026, providing publicity for the grants awarded for the hiring of technical labor guidance personnel for the 2026 financial year. The measure, which is processed under procedure code TR331A, benefits dozens of councils, associations of municipalities, and social entities throughout Galicia.

The grants are framed within the Order of March 11, 2026, published in DOG no. 57, of March 26, which establishes the regulatory bases and the public call for this line of subsidies. The funding comes from earmarked funds received from the State Public Employment Service, charged to budget applications 14.03.322A.460.4 and 14.03.322A.481.1, project code 2015 00524. The resolution is signed by the general director Zeltia Lado Lago.

Beneficiary councils and associations of municipalities

Budget application 14.03.322A.460.4, destined for councils and associations of municipalities, totals 2,902,203.31 €. Most councils receive a grant of 33,000 €, with additional amounts for expenses ranging between 800 € and 2,700 €.

• Councils with the highest amounts: O Carballiño (84,500 €), Oleiros (67,600 €), Arteixo (67,566.20 €), Ribadavia (67,600 €), Ponteareas (67,600 €), A Coruña (67,600 €) and Ourense (67,600 €).
• Associations of municipalities: Comarca de Ordes (67,600 €), Comarca de Verín (33,800 €), Comarca de Ferrol (35,700 €), Salnés (35,700 €), Santa Águeda (31,014.91 €) and Terra de Celanova (31,800 €).
• Among the beneficiary councils are Sada, Cambados, Ribeira, Nigrán, Carballo, Boiro, Fene, Ferrol, Narón, Lalín, Sarria, Betanzos, Culleredo and Moaña, among others.

Social entities and associations

The second application, 14.03.322A.481.1, destined for associations, foundations, and non-profit entities, totals 5,346,666.13 €. The highest amounts correspond to entities working with disability and labor insertion.

• Galician Confederation of People with Disabilities (Cogami): 922,122.09 €.
• General Union of Workers of Galicia (UGT): 643,700 €.
• Federation of Associations of Relatives and Mentally Ill People of Galicia (Feafes): 429,900 €.
• Fademga Plena Inclusión Galicia: 426,900 €.
• Construction Labor Foundation (FLC): 373,300 €.
• Friends of Galicia Foundation: 271,900 €.

Grants are also received by entities such as Fundación Menela, Fundación Cip, Federación Down Galicia, FAXPG, Asociación Amicos, Ecos do Sur, Asperga, Asime and Apetamcor, among others.

Publication and transparency

The resolution complies with article 9.9 of the regulatory order, which requires the publication of concessions according to article 17 of Law 1/2016, of January 18, on transparency and good governance, and article 15 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies of Galicia. The publication of these grants strengthens the labor guidance network in the Galician territory, allowing city councils and social entities to hire specialized technical personnel to accompany unemployed people in their job search. This is a commitment to proximity in local employment services, funded with state funds and managed by the Xunta de Galicia.
