The Xunta publishes the environmental impact statement for the Edreira I wind farm

The General Directorate of Environmental Quality and Sustainability has made public the environmental impact statement for the modified Edreira I wind farm project and the Ampliación Edreira I wind farm, in the municipality of A Lama (Pontevedra). The resolution, formulated on August 6, 2026, was published via an announcement in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 156) on August 19, 2026, on page 45349.

The project is promoted by the companies Puentengasa San Roque I, S.L. and Puentengasa Oleirón, S.L., and is processed under file 2026/0101. The statement was signed by delegation of signature by the Deputy General Director of Environmental Assessment, Alejandro Carrera López, by virtue of the agreement of August 7, 2025.

Regulatory Framework

The publication responds to the provisions of article 41.3 of Law 21/2013, of December 9, on environmental assessment (BOE no. 296, of December 11), which requires the environmental impact statement of projects subject to assessment to be made public. The statement was formulated by the General Directorate of Environmental Quality and Sustainability, under the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

The document can be consulted at the link enabled by the Xunta de Galicia (cmatv.xunta.gal) and at the offices of the general directorate itself and the General Directorate of Renewable Energies and Climate Change, located in Santiago de Compostela (San Lázaro, s/n, ground floor).

Scope of the Project

The statement covers two linked projects within the same territorial area:

• The Edreira I wind farm in its modified version.
• The Ampliación Edreira I wind farm, which extends the installation in the same municipality.

Both projects are located in the municipality of A Lama, in the province of Pontevedra, and are jointly promoted by the two companies of the Puentengasa group.

Relevance for the Neighborhood

The environmental impact statement constitutes a key step in the authorization procedure for the wind farm, as it conditions its execution to the environmental measures established in the resolution. For the residents of A Lama, the publication opens the possibility of knowing the scope of the predicted effects and the conditions imposed to minimize them.

The decision is part of the push for renewable energies in Galicia, in a context of increasing social and environmental sensitivity regarding the implementation of wind farms in the territory. The public consultation of the document will allow interested persons and affected entities to assess the content of the statement and its impact on the surroundings.
