The Xunta appoints career civil servants in early childhood education

The Department of Finance and Public Administration of the Xunta de Galicia has appointed career civil servants to the body of technical staff of a facultative nature of Special Administration of the general Administration of the Autonomous Community of Galicia, group B and subgroup C1, scale of facultative technical agents, specialty of early childhood education. The decision was adopted by means of the Resolution of September 2, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) number 167, of September 3, 2026, pages 47909 to 47925, with the official reference CVE-DOG: 6bjmooz0-hhf5-5gb6-rn51-kly7bvcswpe0.
The resolution assigns definitive destinations to the persons who passed the selective processes convened by the resolutions of December 22, 2022 (DOG no. 244, of December 26, and DOG no. 245, of December 27) and by the Resolution of January 22, 2024 (DOG no. 20, of January 29). The assignment was carried out following the act of choice of destination provided for in the Resolution of August 20, 2026 (DOG no. 158, of August 21).
Appointments and destinations
The annex of the resolution contains a hundred appointments with definitive destinations in early childhood schools managed by the Galician Consortium of Equality and Welfare Services, through its peripheral services. The assigned positions are of two categories:
- Early childhood education agent (subgroup C1, level 16), the majority in the list.
- Kindergarten specialist (subgroup C1, level 18), with presence in centers such as the Vite Early Childhood School (Santiago de Compostela), Elviña and O Ventorrillo (A Coruña), Catabois (Ferrol) or Nª Sª do Campo (Ribadeo).
The destinations are distributed across municipalities throughout Galicia, including Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Ferrol, Ourense, Pontevedra, Vigo, Lalín, Arteixo, Curtis, Mos, Tui, Silleda and Vilagarcía de Arousa, among others.
Waivers and lapses
In the same act, the department accepts the waivers listed in the annex and resolves the lapse of one applicant, Óscar Pena Rivera, for failing to present the documentation within the fixed period, according to base V.3 of the 2022 calls. Persons who waived or lapsed may not be appointed as career civil servants, without prejudice to any responsibilities that may derive therefrom.
Assumption of office
In accordance with Law 2/2015, of April 29, on public employment in Galicia, the period for taking office shall be fifteen calendar days starting from September 4, 2026, according to the Resolution of July 6, 2026 (DOG no. 128, of July 10), which declared urgency and reduced the periods in processes resolved during the summer period. In the case of temporary incapacity, the period shall begin on the next business day following the end of the medical leave, except in situations of maternity or paternity.
The resolution, signed by delegation by the Director General of Public Employment and Personnel Administration, Nuria Aguilar Vázquez, ends the administrative process and may be appealed for reversal before the regional minister within one month or through contentious-administrative proceedings before the High Court of Justice of Galicia within two months.
The incorporation of these career civil servants consolidates the staff of Galician public nursery schools and guarantees the stable coverage of early childhood care positions throughout the territory, within a context of strengthening public employment in the educational sector.
