The Xunta modifies the educational agreements of private subsidized centers

The Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training of the Xunta de Galicia published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 160, of August 25, 2026, p. 46482) the Order of August 7, 2026, signed by the counselor Román Rodríguez González, which modifies the educational agreements with private teaching centers for early childhood, primary, compulsory secondary, special education and vocational training. The regulation, with official reference CVE-DOG: pnwrg9k2-7eq1-p028-qwk3-pl2jmmpektp4, will have economic and administrative effects from September 1, 2026.

The order is part of the agreement regime regulated by the Order of January 12, 2023 (DOG no. 14), which established the rules for the 2023/24 course and following, and which approved the agreements for a maximum period of six courses, until the end of the 2028/29 course. These agreements had already been modified by the orders of August 13, 2024, and August 8, 2025, and now the agreed units are adjusted again for the 2026/27 course.

Modification of units

Annex I of the order lists the modifications to the current agreements, with deletions and increases of units in different centers and stages:

• Early childhood education: 1 unit is removed from the CPR Plurilingüe Santa Teresa de Jesús (Ourense).
• Primary and ESO: 1 EP unit is removed from the CPR Plurilingüe Peñarredonda (A Coruña), Manuela Rial Mouzo (Cee), Amor de Dios (Vigo) and Montecastelo (Vigo); 1 EP unit is increased in the CPR Plurilingüe Montespiño (Culleredo) and Las Acacias (Vigo).
• Special education: 1 autism unit is increased at the CEEPR Aceesca (O Porriño).
• Intermediate level vocational training (FP): the 2nd year of the cycles in Chemical Plant (CPR Cristo Rey, A Coruña), Guide in Natural Environment and Leisure (CPR Seminario Diocesano-San Lorenzo, Lugo) and Commercial Activities (CPR Divino Maestro, Ourense) is agreed upon.
• Higher level vocational training (FP): the 2nd year of Oral Hygiene (EFAG El Piñeiral, Arzúa) and Network Computer Systems Administration (CPR FP Montecastelo, Vigo) is agreed upon; the cycle of Teaching and Socio-Sports Animation at the CPR San Narciso (Marín) is removed.

Rejected requests

Annex II lists the 52 requests for modification or subscription of an agreement that are rejected, as the department considers that the educational needs of the area corresponding to each center are satisfied and that the requirements of article 6 of the Order of January 12, 2023, are not met. Among the affected centers are, among others, the CPR Plurilingüe Hijas de Jesús, the CPR Plurilingüe Karbo and the CPR Plurilingüe Montegrande (A Coruña), the CPR Fingoi and the CPR Divina Pastora (Lugo), the CPR Plurilingüe María Auxiliadora and the CPR Padre Feijoo Zorelle (Ourense), and the CPR Salesianos A Mercé (Cambados) and the CPR Aloya (Vigo).

Formalization and protection of teaching staff

Modifications due to changes in the number of units shall be formalized through an addendum to the agreement document, signed by the head of the center and the general director of Centers and Human Resources. The regulation also includes the application of the Agreement of June 14, 2023, regarding the relocation of teaching staff affected by the reduction of units, as well as the maintenance of partial retirement situations for teaching staff under delegated payment as provided for in the agreements of August 28, 2024, and December 12, 2025.

The order, which exhausts the administrative route, allows for an optional appeal for reversal within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the High Court of Justice of Galicia, and shall enter into force on the day following its publication. With these adjustments, the Xunta reorganizes the subsidized offer for the 2026/27 academic year, with a direct impact on families and teaching staff of private subsidized centers in Galicia.
