A Xunta Electoral da Coruña anuncia o plan de cobertura de TVG e Radio Galega

The Provincial Electoral Board of A Coruña forwarded this Thursday the informative coverage plan that the regional public media will apply during the campaign for the elections to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate on November 29. The agreement, adopted on November 3, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 212, November 5, section III, Other provisions, p. 55702). Political formations have only one day from publication to examine the programming and file any claims they deem appropriate.

A plan with debates, interviews, and criteria

The communication received by the provincial board comes from the general directorate of the Corporación de Servizos Audiovisuais de Galicia, S.A. (CSAG), a regional public commercial company that integrates the audiovisual media of the Community, including Televisión de Galicia and Radio Galega. The communication is dated November 3, 2026.

According to what is detailed in the agreement, the coverage plan includes:

  • The forecast of debates and interviews, indicating the date and time of their broadcast.
  • The political entities invited to each space and the planned duration of each.
  • Specific programs of an electoral nature.
  • The criteria regarding specific information for the electoral campaign.

Preclusive one-day deadline to claim

In accordance with the instruction from the Central Electoral Board regulating these cases, political entities may examine the programming at the offices of the Provincial Electoral Board of A Coruña. The deadline is preclusive, lasting one day from the publication of the agreement, meaning this Friday, November 6.

Within that same period, candidacies may present the claims or appeals they consider pertinent against the plan.

Notification to candidacies and regional scope

In parallel, the board agrees to notify the agreement to the representatives of the proclaimed candidacies via email and with the referral of the plan, so that they may become aware of it and, if applicable, appeal within the one-day period counted from the publication in the DOG.

The agreement emphasizes that the plan includes broadcasts at a regional level and that, consequently, it may affect the interests of all candidacies presented in the provinces included therein. Therefore, notification is also given, via email and through their general representatives, to the proclaimed candidacies in the Community that do not have representation before this provincial board.

The announcement complies with the fifth point of Instruction 4/2011, of March 24, of the Central Electoral Board, published in the Official State Gazette no. 74, of March 28, which interprets article 66 of the Organic Law of the general electoral regime regarding appeals against the information coverage plans of the electoral campaign. The publication in the DOG is further supported by article 18.6 of the same organic law. The agreement is signed by the secretary of the provincial board, Lourdes Villegas Castrillo, in A Coruña on November 3, 2026.

The CSAG is a regional public commercial company under article 102 of Law 16/2010, of December 17, which integrates the public audiovisual communication media of the Autonomous Community, and the selection processes for its management personnel are governed by Law 1/2025, of March 14, on the services of the public audiovisual communication media of Galicia.

The relevance of the news for the reader is direct: it marks the moment when candidates can monitor how much time and in which slots Televisión de Galicia and Radio Galega will broadcast during the general election campaign of November 29, and sets it with a tight calendar, of only 24 hours, to challenge programming that is broadcast to all of Galicia.
