The Electoral Board authorizes changes to venues and polling stations in seven municipalities
Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Electoral Board of Ourense has authorized changes to polling stations and the reorganization of polling stations requested by seven municipalities in the province for the General Elections on November 29, 2026. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on October 23, 2026, within the Elections section, through the Electoral Census Office of the Provincial Delegation of Ourense. The changes directly affect the voters of the indicated polling stations, who must vote at a different venue or at a reorganized station.
The framework: municipal request and provincial approval
According to the published text, in all cases, these are requests formulated by the municipalities themselves that obtained the approval of the Provincial Electoral Board. The authorization refers to a specific polling station in each of the affected municipalities, identified by district, section, and station letter, except in Vilar de Barrio, where what was approved was a reorganization of the composition of the polling stations.
The publication in the provincial gazette is the mechanism by which the modification is made public and official record is kept of the new venue assigned to each station. The document bears the official reference 353055 and is signed by the Electoral Census Office of the Provincial Delegation of Ourense.
Five municipalities change polling stations
The authorizations for venue changes affect the following stations and addresses:
- Castrelo do Val: district 01, section 001, station A. New venue: Colexio Público de Castrelo do Val, Rúa O Toural 7, Castrelo do Val (Santa María), 32625.
- Laza: district 01, section 001, station C. New venue: CEIP O Castiñeiro, Rúa Castiñeiro 1, Laza (San Xoán), 32620.
- Ourense: district 01, section 001, station U. New venue: Ourense City Council, Praza Maior 1, 32005.
- O Riós: district 01, section 001, station C. New venue: Local Social de San Cristovo, San Cristovo 103, A Trepa (Santa María), 32611.
- Piñor: district 01, section 001, station A. New venue: Centro Cultural de Arenteiro, Arenteiro 18 A, Barran (San Xoán), 32137.
- Taboadela: district 01, section 002, station U. New venue: Escola de Lama de Prado, Ctra. A Rante 2, Veredo, Mesón de Calvos (Santa María), 32691.
In the case of Taboadela, it is noteworthy that the affected station is U of section 002, one of the last in the numbering, indicating that the change occurs in a section with many polling stations.
Vilar de Barrio distributes its voters between two stations
The municipality of Vilar de Barrio is not changing buildings, but rather reorganizing the composition of its stations in section 001. Station A remains at the Antigas Escolas. Salón Cultural, at Praza do Toural 13, 32702, and station B at the Centro Social en Arnuide, Rúa Vilanova 19, Arnuide (Santa María), 32705.
The published distribution establishes that at both polling stations, voters whose first surname begins with a letter between A and Z will vote. Station A includes the population centers of A Alberguería, Arruas, A Bóveda, Vilar de Gomareite, Maus, Padreda, Prado, Rebordechao, Seiro, and Vilar de Barrio, among others. Station B covers Arnuide, Cancillos, A Eirexa, Penadiz ou Folón, Maus, Porto, and Alemparte, among others.
What this implies for voters
The modification does not alter the census or the right to vote, but it does change the physical location to be visited on November 29. Voters at the related stations should check the address listed in the electoral documentation and, if doubts persist, consult their town hall or the Electoral Census Office of the Provincial Delegation of Ourense.
The official publication in the provincial bulletin is the valid reference over any previous information; therefore, any change of venue notified before this date is replaced by what is contained in the announcement of October 23. For small municipalities, such as Castrelo do Val, O Riós, or Piñor, the relocation of a single polling station may mean that a significant portion of the neighborhood must travel to a parish other than their usual one.
