The Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training announces 200,000 euros in grants (procedure code ED303A) to finance tuition, travel, accommodation, and maintenance expenses for non-university teaching staff participating in training activities. The call was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 169) on September 7, 2026, and the application period is one month from the day following the publication.
The order of September 2, 2026 establishes the regulatory bases and announces the grants for the year 2026, under a competitive bidding process. The call derives from the agreement signed on October 11, 2023, between the department and the signatory trade union organizations, to which CSIF joined on December 9, 2025, regarding measures to improve the functioning of the educational system and the working conditions of teaching staff.
Who can apply
Beneficiaries may include active teaching staff stationed in Galicia, in public educational centers, who engage in direct teaching with students, as well as specific guidance teams, advisory positions, the Educational Inspection, union representatives, and staff in positions subject to agreement. Trainee civil servants, interim staff, and substitute teachers may also apply, in the latter case provided that at least 85% of the subsidizable activity takes place during their appointment period.
Applicants must be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations. The grants are not compatible with others granted for the same purpose.
Expenses and amounts
The grants cover up to 100% of tuition or registration, travel, accommodation, and maintenance expenses, with limits based on the location of the activity:
- Type I, activities in Galicia: up to 400 euros.
- Type II, activities in the rest of the Spanish territory: up to 800 euros.
- Type III, activities abroad: up to 1,500 euros.
Subsidizable activities must take place between January 1 and November 30, 2026, and be related to equality, coexistence and inclusion, health and well-being, information technologies, the STEM field, multilingualism, or the artistic field. The initial amount of 200,000 euros may be increased depending on budget availability.
How and when to submit the application
Applications are addressed to the General Directorate of Centers and Human Resources and must be submitted electronically via the standardized form (Annex I) on the electronic headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia. An application can be submitted for up to three different activities, indicating the order of preference.
The submission period is one month from the day following the publication of the order in the DOG. The call appears in the National Grants Database with the identifier 927777.
The order was signed in Santiago de Compostela on September 2, 2026, by the counselor, with signing delegation to the technical general secretary, Manuel Vila López.
The call represents direct support for the professional development of Galician teachers, by allowing teaching staff to offset expenses derived from their training and align their initiatives with the priority lines of training in Galicia, with the objective of improving the quality of the educational system.
