The Xunta grants ten subsidies for elderly care homes in rural municipalities
Por FactBox Admin

The General Directorate for the Elderly and Sociosanitary Care has resolved the granting of ten grants under procedure BS212A for the implementation of senior centers, with a total amount of 522,036.80 euros distributed between the 2026 and 2027 financial years. The resolution, issued on October 9, 2026, and signed by the general director Antonio Acevedo Prado by delegation of the counselor for Social Policy and Equality, is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 198, of October 19, 2026, section III, p. 52964, with the reference CVE-DOG: jzg53by8-hj39-bue3-rek8-idouctaafrf1.
The call stems from the Order of July 10, 2026, published in DOG no. 139 of July 27, which regulates the bases and calls for grants for the years 2026 and 2027. The threshold for obtaining the subsidy was set at 35 points, and the funding is covered under budget applications 08.05.312E.470 and 08.05.312E.770.0, with project code 2018-00048.
The grants fall under the de minimis regime of Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 of December 13, 2023, meaning the beneficiary cannot exceed 300,000 euros in any period of three fiscal years. The procedure had an immediate precedent: the Resolution of September 3, 2026 (DOG no. 173, of September 11), which required the amendment of documentation from several applicants.
Ten projects in eight municipalities
Annex I lists the ten grants, all of them for natural persons or associated work cooperatives in municipalities of rural Galicia. Nine files receive 53,429.68 euros each (15,929.68 in 2026 and 37,500 in 2027) and one, without a transport grant, 41,169.68 euros:
- BS212A/2026/1: María Carmen Martínez Lema, Muxía.
- BS212A/2026/2: Noela Aguado Sánchez, O Irixo.
- BS212A/2026/6: Luis Miguel Lolo Bardasco, Cervantes.
- BS212A/2026/7 and BS212A/2026/8: Asorey, Sociedade Cooperativa Galega, Vila de Cruces.
- BS212A/2026/9: Paracor, Sociedade Cooperativa Galega, Ponteceso.
- BS212A/2026/10: Paracor, Sociedade Cooperativa Galega, Muxía.
- BS212A/2026/15: Adriana Vázquez Fernández, Boqueixón.
- BS212A/2026/21: Mónica Esther Canabal Fernández, Touro.
- BS212A/2026/25: Débora María Bouzón Bouzón, Fornelos de Montes.
Each file combines an investment grant of 15,000 euros, a development bonus of 769.68 euros in 2026 and 25,400 in 2027, and, in the case of having a transport service, 160 euros in 2026 and 12,100 in 2027.
Waiting list and excluded applications
Annex II lists five applications that remain on the waiting list due to the exhaustion of credit, although they exceed the scoring threshold:
- BS212A/2026/4: Ramona Francisca Fernández Fernández, Carnota, 60 points.
- BS212A/2026/12: Laura Triñanes García, Maside, 60 points.
- BS212A/2026/17: Lidia García Ojea, O Páramo, 40 points.
- BS212A/2026/3: Aarón López Otero, Melón, 35 points.
- BS212A/2026/16: Silvia González Garrido, San Amaro, 35 points.
Annex III dismisses nine applications. Three of them (BS212A/2026/05, BS212A/2026/20 and BS212A/2026/22) lapse for failing to provide documentation following the request for amendment, in accordance with article 9.4 of the order; the other six (BS212A/2026/11, /13, /14, /18, /19 and /24) fail to meet the requirements of article 10.1. Among those dismissed are A Casa das Redes, Sociedade Cooperativa Galega (Oia) and Raquel Martínez Rivera (Padrenda).
Annex IV denies a single application, BS212A/2026/23, from Sorema, Sociedade Cooperativa Galega, in Arbo, because the municipality already has an operational day center according to the Single Registry of Entities Providing Social Services, in addition to failing to comply with article 10.1.
Deadlines for acceptance and justification
Beneficiaries have ten days from the day following publication to accept the aid; in the absence of an express manifestation, it will be understood as tacitly accepted. They also have two months to provide the documentation from letters k) to r) of article 10.1 and prove the conditioning of the property, including a habitability report, photographs of the adaptations, and a civil liability insurance policy of 15,000 euros.
The resolution exhausts the administrative route: an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia.
The publication closes the first cycle of the elderly housing program with a demand that exceeded the available credit: of the 25 applications processed, only ten receive aid and five remain on the waiting list. For the rural municipalities involved, the result measures both the interest of cooperatives and autonomous promoters in this model of daytime care and the actual competition for the available funds.
