The Xunta grants five million to women's information centers

The Xunta has resolved the granting of 5,021,548.36 euros in subsidies to Galician local entities for the support of women’s information centers (CIM). The decision was adopted on September 25, 2026, by the Directorate General for the Promotion of Equality, of the Ministry of Social Policy and Equality, and is made public in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 190, of October 6, 2026, section III, p. 51559, with the reference CVE-DOG: ukfaw378-juz3-qmo0-tzq2-pvixfgdym3b1.

A call for 5.07 million in competitive bidding

The origin of the aid is in the Order of June 3, 2026, published in DOG no. 109 of June 12, 2026, which established the regulatory bases and called for 2026 the subsidies to local entities for the support of CIMs, under the procedure code SI427B. The allocated credit amounted to 5,075,508.00 euros, distributed in two annual installments: 3,275,508.00 euros charged to 2026 and 1,800,000.00 euros charged to 2027.

The procedure was processed under a competitive bidding regime, in accordance with Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia. The beneficiary CIMs are those accredited under Decree 130/2016, of September 15. After the processing of the applications in the Directorate General for the Promotion of Equality, the Evaluation Commission issued its report and the instructing body submitted the resolution proposal, audited by the Delegated Comptroller.

84 local entities distribute the funds

The resolution grants aid to 84 local entities, including city councils and associations of municipalities (mancomunidades), which appear in the annex with their file number, NIF, score, and funded positions. The highest amounts are:

Mancomunidade da Comarca de Ordes (file SI427B 2026/42): 120,000.00 euros.
Concello de Lalín (SI427B 2026/20): 120,000.00 euros.
Mancomunidade do Salnés (SI427B 2026/06): 113,803.48 euros.
Concello de Curtis (SI427B 2026/55): 102,087.08 euros.
Concello de Palas de Rei (SI427B 2026/63): 100,500.00 euros.
Concello de Monforte de Lemos (SI427B 2026/48): 99,000.00 euros.
Mancomunidade do Ribeiro (SI427B 2026/11): 97,049.20 euros.
Concello de Padrón (SI427B 2026/83): 89,550.26 euros.

Among the beneficiaries are also the councils of Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Ourense, Lugo, Pontevedra, Ferrol, Carballo, Vilagarcía de Arousa, Redondela, Culleredo, Arteixo, Ames, Ribeira, Sarria, Viveiro, Vilalba, O Barco de Valdeorras, O Carballiño, O Grove, O Pereiro de Aguiar, O Porriño, Xinzo de Limia, Zas, Muros, Muxía, Negreira, Nigrán, Noia, Ortigueira, Outes, Poio, Ponte Caldelas, Ponteareas, Quiroga, Sanxenxo, Santa Comba, Silleda, Soutomaior, Teo, Valga, Viana do Bolo, Baiona, Barbadás, Boiro, Boqueixón, Bueu, Burela, Caldas de Reis, Cangas, Carballeda de Avia, Cee, Chantada, Coirós, Gondomar, A Guarda, A Estrada, A Laracha, A Lama, Maceda, Marín, Melide, Moaña, Mondoñedo, Mos, Muíños, A Pobra de Trives, As Pontes de García Rodríguez, Ribadeo and Ares, as well as the associations of municipalities (mancomunidades) of Conso-Frieiras, Santa Águeda, Terra de Celanova and the Comarca de Verín.

Victim assistance centers

The grants finance the direct costs of personnel performing functions in the CIM. The subsidized positions include:

CIM Management.
Legal advice.
Psychological assistance.
Equality agent.
Dynamization agent.
Equality technician.

The eligible personnel expenses are those generated between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. Those corresponding to the period from April 1 to November 30, 2026, will be charged to the 2026 fiscal year, and those from December 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, to the 2027 fiscal year.

Advances, deadlines and appeals

Beneficiary entities must communicate their acceptance within ten days of notification; if they fail to do so, it will be tacitly understood as accepted.
An initial advance payment of 80% of the granted amount will be made, without the obligation to provide a guarantee.
The remaining 20% will be released after justification of the fulfillment of the purpose of the grant.
The supporting documentation must be submitted by a deadline of April 12, 2027.
Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the High Court of Justice of Galicia.

The resolution is signed by Eloína Ingerto López, Director General for the Promotion of Equality, acting by delegation of the Minister of Social Policy and Equality.

The grant guarantees the continuity of legal, psychological, and equality assistance personnel who serve victims of gender-based violence throughout Galicia, including rural councils that share services through associations of municipalities. The distribution, which leaves 53,959.64 euros of the initial credit unassigned, consolidates a network of 84 local entities supported by regional funds until March 2027.
